KTM: I'll give you a cookie if you do the disclaimer!
Sokka:Okay! KTM does not own Avatar:the Last Airbender or any
of its other stuff. Okay, I did it...Where's my cookie?
KTM: ZUKO STOLE IT! ( points at Zuko, who looks up with cookie
crumbs all over his face)
Katara surveyed the destruction around her with a weary eye. So many soldiers
were injured and it would take a lot of energy to heal them. After hearing that the Fire
had died, the Fire Nation soldiers had surrendered. I wonder why they forgot about
Ozai...they must think he's dead already!
She was interuppted from her thoughts by an urgent tap on her shoulder. She
turned around coming face-to-face with Zuko.
"What are you doing here!? Shouldn't you be helping Aang?" Katara demanded.
"I came down to get your help." Zuko replied breathlessly,"The battle's not going
well for Aang. He already has some major injuries!"
"Then what are we still doing here?Let's get Sokka and Toph and go!

A few minutes later, they arrived at the palace - or what was left of it. Barely
sparing a passing glance at the destroyed palace, they all rushed inside to see the
battle at a stand-still.
Aang was fighting to take control of the lava that Ozai had tried to throw at him-
and was trying to do it with only one arm. Katara looked closer and saw that his other
arm was severely burned.
Zuko automatically rushed over and helped Aang take control by adding his power
forcing the lava back onto Ozai. Ozai screamed in pain as the lava seared through his
skin, creating incurable burns. Aang took advantage of the opportunity by creating a
block of earth that hit Ozai full-force, smashing him against his own throne.
After a few seconds, Toph declared, "There's no life signs over there - he's dead!"
Suddenly, lava came shooting up out of the floor, hitting Aang and sending him fly-
ing into a pile of rubble.
"The volcano's erupting! We have to get out of here, now!" Sokka shouted before
rushing over to Aang, who was shaking badly, and by the looks of him, fighting to stay
awake. "Aang! Can you walk?" Sokka asked urgently. Aang lightly shook his head, lo-
oking up with glazed grey eyes. "Can you at least try?" Sokka asked, his voice full of
desperation.
"Broke...my..leg...can't..move..." Aang whispered hoarsely. Apparently, even that
half-sentence depleted too much energy, because Aang passed out a moment later.
"Zuko! Help lift Aang onto my back!" Sokka called. Zuko rushed over and carefully
Aang onto Sokka's back. Aang whimpered quietly in pain but didn't wake up.

A few moment later, they stood a little outside the capital city. Katara reached
carefully into Aang's sash, pulling out his bison whistle. After blowing into it, she
whispered, "Don't worry, Aang, Appa will be along soon." Not even a moment after
she said that, Appa landed right next to them, sniffing Aang worriedly. They all climbed
on- all except for Zuko.
"Hey, Hothead! Get up here or we're leaving without you!" Toph called down.
"I can't. With my father and sister dead and my uncle gone, I have to take the
throne.
"Well..okay. We'll all miss you, Hothead." Toph relented.
As they parted their separate ways, they all thought the exact same thing.
Thank Spirits, I can go home and sleep...
