Mugen hated Jin, in all his stoic, four-eyed, sophisticated snobbery. He'd hated him the first day they'd crossed blades, and neither had come out on top. He hated the fact that he had to see this man every day, and not be allowed to kill him. And he hated that Jin was equally protective of the girl.
But what he hated most was the fact that as time passed, he had less of a reason to hate Jin, and more of a reason to fight alongside him – he hated not hating.
