Title: Stutter and Smile

Summary: Small things happen between everyone. Impossible things become true between them. Pansy x Neville ONESHOT

Neville Longbottom walked down the hallway to transfiguration class, carrying his books.

The corner came up, and as he was daydreaming, he couldn't care to look ahead. A sound of thud resonated as he fell down.

"Watch it, Gryffindor", she snickered. Her eyes narrowing at the sight of him collecting his books, and hers.

He gave her books back to her, as if trying to be gentlemanly, but his eyes looked down in embarrassment.

"I-I…" he tried to say, but all she could make out was a stutter of, "I'm sorry"

He was startled at the contact, "Are you hurt?"

She took the book hastily away from his fingers, "Bah"

"Of course not", and she turned away, walking quickly to her transfiguration class.

She could barely hear the sorry he voice again, and didn't even bother to say thank you.

Professor McGonagall glowered the class as she appointed Harry to collect their 27.8 centimeter essays on the function of different genes inside animagus after transforming.

Pansy Parkinson watched the adolescence shuffle through his book bag quickly, rushing nervously as Harry stood beside him, palms open.

She sighed as Harry moved on to her seat, "Homework?"

She pulled out her transfiguration notebook and grabbed her homework out to hand it in.

She saw a paper sticking out of her bag, a complete utter disgrace of hygiene standards for her to have a paper on which ink has spilled over.

She ignored it and watched as Harry returned to Neville's desk.

"Neville, please do be quick", she heard him say.

She took a glance to the mysterious paper, 'perhaps Draco had sent it?'

She sighed as she took the paper out and laid it out on her lap to read.

"Professor McGonagall", Neville raised his hand, "I-I... Uh... Couldn't find my homework"

She smirked, 'fool'. She looked again at the paper she held, and realized almost immediately that it was his messed up essay.

"Shit", she muttered.

"Ms. Parkinson, language", she said sharply.

'He picked up your things, and he said sorry', Pansy felt herself beginning to feel sorry for the now being scolded Gryffindor, but she couldn't help the pride that she was a slytherin.

She looked at his nervous face, scared and confused. He is probably wondering where the damned essay went. She looked at the stern face of the head Gryffindor.

She shut her eyelids tight and took a deep breath before the words came out, "I've got Longbottom's homework, professor"

She felt the class' eyes on her as she rose from her seat and handed the homework to Professor McGonagall.

His soft and scare eyes met her piercing glare as they walked down the aisle to their original seats.

"Uh... Parkinson... Thanks", she heard him whisper as he looked back at her, she continued her angry attitude as if she hadn't a choice.

"Don't expect it next time", she returned his gaze with her own eyes, she started to turn back.

"Pansy", Draco said, catching his attention.

And before Pansy Parkinson turned away completely, she could've sworn she saw Neville smile.

An earnest smile, and for once, his lips didn't tremble, nor did he stutter no more when he said his next words.

"Really, thanks a lot" Pansy Parkinson could not help but smile a little smile back.
