Live for Me

Live for Me.

Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor who, and unfortunately I don't own the song Cat and Mouse, by the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Please review and tell me what you think! I reckon the song is perfect for 10 Rose!!

It had been like the calm before the storm. In fact, that is just what it was. They'd lain in each other's arms, talking and laughing, softly whispering subtle flirtations under the dimly glowing lights of the TARDIS.

Softly we tremble tonight.
Picture perfect fading smiles are all that's left in sight,
I said I'd never leave, you'll never change,
I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life.

Who would've known that the very next day they'd encounter an army of ghosts to tear them from each others' loving grasp? The Doctor had always known it couldn't be forever, but oh, why did it have to be so soon? It was moments such as these, filled with pure bliss and innocence, that the Doctor realised his life was not one he'd wish upon his greatest enemies.

Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
You said, you said that you would die for me...

Rose had told him she'd stay forever. Forever. That night as they lay together, in each other's arms yet still not admitting to their love, Rose let something slip.

"I'd die for you, Doctor," she said thoughtfully, snuggling in closer to him. "I really would."

"Rose, don't ever say that," he snapped, moving her away so he could look into her eyes. "I never want you to die, so don't say things like that."

"Everything has it's time," she said simply. "If I had to, I'd die for you and that's that."

"Don't say that," he whispered, hearts beating faster. "Rose, just don't."

"Fine, I won't say it then," she said testily, turning around and leaning back into his embrace. "Just because I don't say it though, it doesn't mean it's not true."

"Rose, I don't want you dying for me."

"Then let me stay with you forever. Or at least until I die."

We made plans to grow old.
Believe me, there was truth in all those stories that I told.
Lost in a simple game, cat and mouse.

Are we the same people as before this came to light?

"A lot's changed since I first met you, Rose," the Doctor commented, stroking her soft golden hair. "You're not just any old human to me."

"And you're not just any old alien either," Rose said, giggling at her own joke. The Doctor's face broke into a grin and he wrapped his arms around her tightly.

"But seriously though. I don't ever want you to die for me."

"I'd die without you," she said quietly.

"You can't. I'd want you to live for me. To live a fantastic life, filled with your own adventures. Simple things, like buying a new perfume or trying foreign food. Those are the adventures that make up life. Live them for me Rose. Promise me you'll live those adventures and that life."

Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
You said, you said that you would die for me...

"I promise."

You must live for me too...
For me too...yeah, yeah...
You said that you would die for me...

"Thank you Rose."

Slowly they drifted off to sleep, lying contentedly in each other's arms. Little did they know what the next day would bring, and every other day after that.

Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
Am I supposed to be happy?
With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price.
You said, you said that you would die for me...

You said that you would die for me...
