Lorelai Gilmore doesn't give many second chances. She has to find that person really has changed. There are not many people she would not give a second chance to. Jess Mariano was on that list for a long time with the pranks he pulled along with the attitude. Now she is taking him off that list and giving him a second chance. Lorelai had a talk with Luke after Rory left to California. She knew Rory had to do this for both Jess and herself. Lorelai made it possible, she and Luke bought Rory a plane ticket to California and 2 plane tickets to comeback with Jess. She made Rory promise to study for finals when she came back and she made sure for her to bring something back that wasn't Jess.
Becoming a mother for Lorelai changed her for the better. When she heard about Jess's life from Luke about how he had to deal with a high and drunk mother and her countless boyfriends and husband, her heart broke. When she heard that she was a mother figure for Jess, she responded like a mother and accepted his flaws and mistakes because he didn't know how to act.
Now she sits at the airport waiting. Waiting for a new chapter of her life to begin. Waiting to see how her daughter's life will form with the man she loves. Waiting to become a new mother. Just waiting for time to pass.
'Flight 926 from Los Angeles, California has just landed.'
Lorelai stood up and waited for passengers to come off. She knew it would be a while because the only seats open on this flight when she booked it was in the back on the plane.
10 minutes later she saw Rory and Jess. She made her way over to her daughter and her boyfriend. She quickly pulled Rory into a hug and then turned to Jess. She saw sadness in his eyes. Her maternal instinct kicked in and pulled him into a hug.
"Let it out, your fine. I'm here." She calmed him as he held on to her and cried.
Jess Mariano cried. He cried for his mother, not being good enough for her to be ok. He cried for Luke for being the pain in the ass he was. He cried for school because he didn't try hard enough. Lastly, he cried for Rory. He cried for being a horrible boyfriend, for almost losing her, for having he to go to California to bring him back to where he belonged.
When he finished crying he pulled back and wiped his eyes.
"Why are you so nice to me when I was a pain in the ass to you? How can you be so open?" Jess asked Lorelai.
"Because, you need someone to love you as a mother does. When Luke told me about how your life was In New York, I understood and I realized that you are the son I don't have."
"Thank you"
"Your welcome. Now let's get your bags and go. Luke has a surprise for everyone."
The trio left the airport and headed towards Stars Hollow.
