"You just left her there to die?" The fiery red-head screamed as she stormed through the TARDIS.
Her hawk-nosed husband struggled to keep up with her. "Yes and no. We couldn't take her on the TARDIS, the paradox would have been too strong and we could have all died or else all been stranded on Apalapucia, where we would have also died…"
"But you just left her? The Doctor promised her she could come!" Amy turned a corner to find a three way tunnel. She chose the tunnel on the right.
"'Rule One: the Doctor lies'," Rory quoted. He stopped at the three-way tunnels, not sure which one to take. Amy suddenly appeared right in front of him, her face only inches away from his.
"Don't quote the Doctor to me," she hissed. She glared at her husband for a minute before turning on her heel and striding down the tunnel once again.
"But you should know that Amy, you've travelled with him longer than I have! Hasn't he lied to you before?" Rory caught up to her and grabbed her arm.
Amy attempted to yank her arm out of his grasp, but Rory held tight. "Of course he has," she conceded quietly, looking at her shoes. "The Doctor lies to everybody, but that doesn't make it right! Killing her was like killing me!"
Rory shook his head. "I know that's what it seems like, but it's not! Because we saved you earlier in your timestream, the older Amy who'd been hiding for 36 years never existed!"
Amy squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the image of her older self. "Then she should be forgotten by us so we aren't haunted by her," she muttered.
Rory pulled his wife to him. "Amy, just remember she was you. It shows how strong you are and how smart you are." He breathed a laugh. "And it shows how I don't deserve you."
Amy pulled away slightly and smiled. "No, it shows how I don't deserve your stupid self." She laughed and kissed him slowly.
From the control room, the Doctor stood and watched them on his scanner. He smiled sadly and nodded his head. Rory, the boy who waited, was certainly a lucky man to have Amy, the girl who waited.
