A/N: Hey! So I got some great feedback on my last story so I thought I'd right another short one. This one is more sad and it's my image of the worst case scenario but oh well. Please review and tell me what you think! Thanks!

It was 9:15am in Afghan.

Molly was currently sitting by James' beside, her hand gripping his tightly. Dried tears covered her face and her breathing was shallow.

She couldn't believe it.

She just couldn't believe that she had been so stupid to let her relationship with Captain James get in the way of their work.

"It's all my fault. It's all my fault" she repeats over and over in her head.

"It should have been me", a silent tear drops from her face.

It had been 2 hours since the attack happened and since then, Molly hasn't left James' side. She had overheard from another nurse that Smurf had been stitched up and getting discharged soon, and she was relieved about that but she just couldn't focus on anything else but James right now.

Her hand tightly squeezes his.

"Hey, you. What are you playing at a?" her voice quivering as she spoke.

"You have to get better. We are spending Christmas together remember?" She says, tears now flowing freely down her face.

"I can't lose you".

Suddenly, his hear monitor starts to slow and beep loudly signalling trouble. She jumps up and races towards the doors of the room,

"HELP. HELP, HES GONE OFF."

Suddenly a bunch of nurses and doctors rush in, surrounding his bed. The next few minutes were all a blur really she just remembers getting dragged outside and told to wait on the seats.

10 minutes had passed and Molly was silent. No tears, no cries for him to live, nothing. She just felt numb, waiting for the news of how he is doing.

Another 20 minutes pass and Jackie comes out, her face solemn. Before she can even open her mouth Molly interrupts her,

"No, no HE CANT BE" she cries, standing up.

"Molly I'm so sorry. There was nothing we could do" Jackie replies, tears also forming in her eyes.

Molly doesn't even respond, just falls to the ground, luckily being caught by Jackie and sobs.

Her whole world was gone, everything she lived for, gone. Her life was shattering down around her, her breathing was rapid, her cries getting louder and louder.

Captain James was gone.

And it was all her fault.
