It was Friday, and teen hero Kim Possible was in her history class, just reading. "Now, will somebody tell me when the Iraq war started? Possible?" Mr. Barkin, Kim's regular substitute teacher asked. Kim didn't respond. She paid attention to her book. "Possible?" Still, Kim didn't respond. Barkin was getting annoyed. "Possible!"

Barkin's yell really got Kim's attention now. "Yes, Mr. Barkin?" Kim asked tentatively.

"Are you ignoring me on purpose? I called for you three times already! Are you on that iPhone?!" Barkin asked as he approached her.

Kim was confused. She didn't have her phone out nor did she have any ear buds in. "No. I'm not."

"Then why didn't you answer when I called you?" Barkin asked.

Kim was getting more confused. "I don't know. I just didn't hear you, I guess." Kim answered.

"Maybe Kim should sit in the front of the room where she can get yelled by Barkin a lot more." Bonnie joked, causing most of the class to laugh. Kim growled at her fellow cheer squad member.

"Quiet people! This isn't a comedy club! It's history class!" Barkin yelled again.

"I'm sorry Mr. Barkin. The answer is 2003." Kim said.

"Correct. And apology accepted. But don't let it happen again, or I'll drop your average." Barkin warned. Kim thought this was weird. Why didn't she hear the question? It was like this morning when she didn't hear her phone alarm and almost was late for school. Her ears didn't hurt. And she wasn't going deaf. She just couldn't hear well enough.

A few hours later, cheer practice began. Kim was simply stretching when Coach Weiler called. "Okay squad, line up!" Every member of the cheer squad lined up in front of their coach, except Kim. Weiler saw Kim still doing her stretches. "That means you Possible!"

Kim finished her prep when she saw her fellow squad members lined up. "Oh, sorry." Kim said as she walked up front.

"Kim's probably going deaf." Bonnie whispered to a fellow member.

Kim frowned at that. "I heard that." Kim muttered.

"All right girls, let's practice our routine!" With that, the music started playing and the Middleton Cheer Squad did their stuff. Everything was going good, till… "All right! Pyramid time!"

The girls then flipped into their spots, but Kim stayed still, not hearing her cue to be on top. "Kim! Do you not see the empty spot?!" Bonnie yelled.

Kim looked and saw it. She then tried to back flip, but the pyramid started to fall and Kim basically toppled it over. "Kim!" The cheer squad yelled, annoyed.

Kim sat up, rubbing her head. "Sorry," Kim said, embarrassed.

"Why don't you go home early Possible? Come back when your hearing is better?" Weiler suggested.

Kim didn't want to go home now, but seeing that her hearing was off, she didn't have a choice. "Yes, coach." Kim walked out of the gym, wondering what was wrong her today.

It was about early evening when Kim walked home with her boyfriend Ron Stoppable from Beuno Nacho. "What is up with me today? First the phone alarm, then Barkin, and now I can't hear my cues! Something is wrong with my hearing!" Kim complained.

"Maybe it's from when Drakken stole that sonic canon last week. It might have damaged your hearing." Ron suggested.

"Ron, I had special ear plugs during that mission. It didn't affect me." Kim reminded him. Sometimes, Ron could come up with bizarre theories. "Want to watch American Idol at my place? I got it recorded."

"Sure." Kim and Ron entered her house and went into the living room. Kim then played her recording of this week's episode of American Idol. Once again, Kim couldn't hear it very well. She groaned with disbelief. I wonder, Kim thought as she picked up the remote. As the first performance played, Kim turned up the volume to maximum level.

"Ahh!" Ron screamed as he covered his ears.

Rufus popped out of his hiding place and covered his ears with his paws. "OW!" He squeaked.

"Kim! That's too loud!" Ron yelled.

"Oh. Sorry!" Kim said as she turned down the volume back to normal level. She sighed heavily as she thought back on the events of today. Kim then moved up closer to the screen and sat down on the floor.

Ron moved around on the couch as he tried to get a better view. "Kim! Now I can't see!" Ron complained.

"Sorry Ronnie. This is just too weird of a day for me." Kim said with a frown. She then smiled. "Would you mind sitting next to me?" She asked, seductively.

"Sorry KP. My grandfather told me that if I sit too close to the screen, I might go blind. That, or either I would fall under the influence of aliens." Ron said. Kim then did her famous puppy dog pout. Ron tried, but he couldn't resist. "What the heck? You're having a bad day. A little bit of Ronshine night cheer you up."

Kim giggled as Ron sat next to her. "Seriously, I don't know what's up with my hearing." Kim said.

"Maybe you're sticky too many dirty things in your ears. Happens to me and Rufus all the time." Ron suggested.

"Ron, how old do you think I am?" Kim asked. "5?"

Ron realized Kim's point. "Oh, right. Why don't we go to the doctor tomorrow and see what's up?"

"Great idea. Luckily for me, there's a doctor in the family." Kim said.
