A/N: Hey you guys! I wrote this as fan service for all out wounded feels. If it's cheesey, that's the whole point. Well, enjoy!
Meilin wondered just how many kids her age got to do this. Have a Bonding Day ceremony twice. Her first in Zhong couldn't really count, though. Where someone had given her The Bile when she expected The Nectar. Instead of a stage like last time, she was on a deck. Instead of aristocrats, there were fellow Greenclocks. For some reason...this was so much better. These people knew the real her, and appreciated her that way. Tarik, her teacher and leader stood in front of her with a cup, filled with Nectar for the test. The test to see if it would work against The Bile. Conor stood next to Abeke off to the left, both smiling at her, trying to relive her worry like good friends do. Rollan stood next to his mother (Aidana had been the one to help Abeke and her escape) by them. These three could be counted as her only friends...and she couldn't imagine this day any other way.
"Are you sure you want to do this Meilin?" Tarik asked before handing her the cup. "We don't know what will happen. It could vary well just make you vary sick." He had been the most skeptical of Rollan's idea of using The Nectar as an antidote to The Bile, but it was four against one. Nodding her head, she released Jhi. It had been so long since she had done that, ever since finding out about Gerathon. Fearing to drive her father away by demands. The panda stretched and yawned, as if waking from a deep sleep. When she saw the cup in Tarik's hand, she seemed to get happy and sat next to her.
She took the cup, inside was a clear, honey-like liquid. Please work, she thought to herself. Please fix this. With another slow, calming deep breath, Meilin took a sip of it. It tasted like her favorite meal, cooked salmon with rice and veggies. She had developed the taste for the fish while traveling on the ship, they ate it a lot because it was plentiful and easy and safe to cook. As the taste of the slightly salty fish receded quickly, a clam and peacefulness came over her. Like when Jhi aided her, times ten fold. Also, Meilin could feel distinct emotions coming off of Jhi like waves on sand. She was beyond happy. Joyous was closer to the real emotion. Relived, too. As if she felt that she could help her now. When Jhi came close and nuzzled her side, the calm peaceful moment passed. But she could still feel Jhi and her emotions.
After that, she remembered that this was still a test to see if it would work. She tried taunting the snake with her thoughts. A sure fire way to bring her out. Nothing. Also, she felt no presences within her like she had been since she found out. All her thoughts were her own. Still, this was a snake they were talking about. There was only one way to see for sure. Her and Jhi's bond would have to be tested. If she did what Meilin said without hesitation, that meant their bond was still influenced some by The Bile. Sensing something that Jhi really didn't want or wouldn't want to do was easy. Meilin showed her wrist to the panda, and asked. "Jhi. Go in to passive state." With a gentle, but firm, swip of her paw to her hand, Jhi sent a clear message. No.
"What?" Cried Tarik.
"How?" Coner said.
"It worked!" Abeke laughed. Rollan just shouted 'YES'.
Meilin herself was shocked at first. Then, laughed. It had worked. It really had worked! Out of pure happiness and excitement, she ran and hugged everyone who were just as excited and as she was. Rollan, coincidently was first to get embraced, Conor and Abeke joined in to. Aidana smiled until she left towards Tarik, who most likely was offering her The Nectar as well. Although, she didn't pay it any mind. It wasn't often Meilin felt she could start over fresh. But today, she did. For once in a vary long time, she felt they could look forward to the future.
