RED'S NIGHTMARE

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

Power Rangers belongs to Haim Saban and Nickelodeon. Takes place in between "Green With Evil Part 5: Breaking The Spell" and "The Trouble With Shellshock". Some lines are from GWEP2 and GWEP3, but the context is different. I'm not sure how much time was supposed to have passed between the two eps, so I'm making something up.

The red-clad boy moaned and tossed and turned in his bed. Fear flitted across his face as he made motions as if trying to escape.

"No. No," he said fearfully. Goldar laughed and brandished his sword menacingly as Jason backed away nervously.

"There is no escape, Jason!" the griffin told him. Jason let out a labored breath. This couldn't be happening. He looked around nervously. There had to be a way to escape. He couldn't go out like this! Goldar laughed and once again knocked the Red Ranger to the ground. Jason's eyes widened in fear as the sword dangled above him. Jason moaned, thrashing around violently. Then the sword shifted into a different sword and he heard familiar laughter.

"The battle is over. I am the victor," Green Ranger announced. The sword came down violently.

"TOMMY, NO!" Jason shouted, jerking awake. He panted and he could feel his heart racing rapidly. His door opened to reveal his mother, Helen Scott.

"Jason, are you all right?" she asked in concern.

"I'm fine, Mom. It was just a bad dream," Jason answered.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I'm-I'm sorry for waking you. Go back to bed, I'll be fine."

"Call me if you need me." The woman went back to her bedroom and Jason fell back on the bed with a sigh. Man, I can't believe I woke her up. Good thing Dad's such a heavy sleeper, he thought. The images from his dream came rushing back and let out a moan. Why couldn't he shake these nightmares? It had been a week since they had broken Rita's spell on Tommy. Man, if I don't get myself together, the team's gonna suffer, he thought. And he couldn't let that happen. Tommy was still dealing with what Rita had done to him, constantly apologizing for what the witch had made him do. Then, Jason went into a relaxation exercise and continued it until his breathing slowed and his eyes drooped. Then, he yawned and let sleep overtake him once more.
