There has never been a moment greater than one Tony has seen other than the moment that Pepper's lips graced his. So soft and luscious that it was a hard time for him to actually think of anything else but throwing her over his shoulders and flying to her house. Tony knew that wasn't an option let alone a possibility.
So when she told him to take things slow he thought that would be piss easy. He was in fact wrong and the words had been swirling around Tony's head for the past several hours trying to comprehend a way why Pepper would go slow until it hit him like a sledge hammer ten times heaver than his iron suit. His fingers tapped against his arc reactor – a habit that he had merely stumbled across lately when in deep thoughts.
Tony.
It was almost as if she was here with him, Tony guess that he was daydreaming yet again of a situation where he could make her lay in my bed whilst he studied her perfect body with his lips and mouth. It was always sex on his mind..
But he was a different man now.
"Tony!" He jumped, his eyes flashing open. When his brown eyes moved to the target of the voice a smile graced his lips. Tony hadn't been able to get Pepper out of his mind since the night they kissed after he'd saved her life from exploding copies of the current suit downstairs. He couldn't stop the full blown grin that happen to etch across Tony's lips when he stood, shuffling towards her. "Yes?" Tony asked huskily due to the sleep that he must've fallen into.
"Mr. Stark, Mr. Fury is on line one. Would you like to be rearranging the time he will call?" The British accent from Tony's A.I spoke from the ceiling. He did a crooked side grin to her hoping the apology was hidden yet noticeable to her in the gesture before heading down to the workshop, his hand brushing against hers as he passed.

There had never been a possibility in the future with a woman that Tony would stick with but trying to fathom a reason why he never wanted a somebody by his side. Of course he knew that, that trait would never fully disappear but he cared for Pepper more than she could ever possibly realize and in that moment, whilst tinkering with his suit in the workshop. But when Tony heard the familiar footsteps come down the steps to the workshop his hearing instantly perked up. He knew it was Pepper, the way she turned his music down before entering.
"Jarvis." He muttered loud enough for him to hear Tony whilst Pepper was tapping in the code.
"Yes Sir." He replied back with and Tony smiled crookedly whilst rubbing his bearded chin with his rough hand. "Turn the music back up." And with that he saw Pepper's forehead turn into a frown asking Jarvis to politely turn the music down.
The argument must have gone on for a while because she was getting restless and was huffing everytime until Jarvis spoke loudly. "I give up, Sir. I cannot function with the quarrel that is conversing between the two of you." And with that Jarvis was silent, for most of the day.
It was that day that Tony Stark realized, Pepper Potts was it for him.
