Buffy stormed into Giles' small house, slamming the door violently shut after her. "Giles! Where are you?" Buffy screamed from the entryway by the stairs.
Giles came running down the stairs, clothed in pajamas, book still in hand. "Buffy? What's wrong?" The look of panic on his face was priceless.
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Buffy shook with rage.
"If this is about Angel, you can-"
"Listen to me. I don't care what you think! Don't you understand that Angel's been judged enough, by far too many people? He beats himself up for everything he's ever done wrong, as Angelus or otherwise, you don't need to help!" Buffy's face was streaked with tears, and her hair was windblown from running here.
She was wearing a dress, probably from some school dance. Her corsage was still tied to her wrist, and her shoes hung from one clenched fist. Mud and grime coated the hem of her beige dress. "He's a vampire, Buffy. You're sworn enemy. I know this is for the best." Giles tried to stay rational. He and Xander had confronted Angel before the dance, and Angel must have taken their advice and left.
"You don't know anything! It's your fault. I never want to see you again. Do you even know what happened? He took me. He was acting strange all night, but I tried to ignore it. We still had fun. During the last dance, he told me he was leaving me forever. Do you know what happened after that? After he walked away and took my heart with him? I died inside, Giles! I died!" Her face contorted, Buffy's eyes changed color, from a hazel green to yellow, an evil, cat-like color. Her smooth skin furrowed, wrinkled, melded together, and turned a purple, rough hue. Buffy the vampire slayer vamped out, her sharp nails clawed the banister as she dragged them against it on her ascent.
"And now I'm going to make you pay, Giles." Just as her nails clawed through his skin, Giles stirred from the dream with a start, falling out of his disheveled bed. The claw marks were very defined against his white pallor.
Rupert Giles lay on the floor; eyes open in the stare of death. Somewhere in the sewers, a monster cackled as she felt his life end. Buffy's face shifted back to its original shape. A cute giggle could be hard from the manhole cover. Buffy checked her watch quickly.
"Hmm. So many people to kill, and so little time. They'll pay. They'll all pay for taking Angel away." Her mouth turned down in a pout.
"Xander, watch out. You're next." Buffy's smile was brilliant as she climbed out of the sewer into the bright sunlight.
"And you're never going to get away from me."
