This is it, you think. Chocolate eyes meet green and you feel yourself shiver. Just one more step and your lips will touch. So, move forward, you silly girl. He is right there, hands in your hair, eyes warm.
This is it.
This is it.
This is it.
The phrase is running around your head, almost forcing you to take that step, but you can't seem to move. Why? His eyes meet yours again and you feel a jolt. Chocolate eyes. Why are you even thinking about chocolate eyes when you are supposed to not be able to take your mind off blue? He smiles, reaching over to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear.
It's a funny thing, love.
How it can twist you around and leave you feeling completely confused. Yesterday, you couldn't wait for his next call, the next time you'd see his smile or feel his arms around you. And now, not even the thought of those warm blue eyes you used to love so much manage to make you feel those damn butterflies.
He is still there, running his fingers down your neck and pushing your hair out of the way in the process. You close your eyes, tilting your head to give him a better access to your neck.
This is so wrong, you know.
On so many levels.
What is wrong with you?
You shouldn't be feeling this. Not with him.
No, with him – for him – you shouldn't be feeling anything. Because chocolate eyes aren't supposed to rival blue – they never have. Because chocolate eyes shouldn't be able to twist your head around and make your stomach jump the way blue eyes do. You shouldn't be here. Not today, not with him.
But then, his lips are on your neck, and you sigh. After all, you think as you tilt your head and place your lips on his entwining your fingers in his hair, one kiss won't ever mean anything. One stupid little kiss won't ever be able to change how you feel.
