Realization

Jason, very suddenly, gasped. Then, he ran quickly to Annabeth.

"All... real…" he gasped to her, still panting from his sprint.

"What?" she asked, confused.

After composing himself, Jason repeated what he had meant to say: "Every god ever widely believed in is real."

"What?!" repeated Annabeth.

Jason nodded.

"How did you come up with this?" she demanded.

"Well, I was thinking about that time when Piper and I beat Hercules and got the cornucopia, then I started thinking about the beginning of all that, and I remembered something that the guy said in passing – something about the Romans 'romanizing' him. Then I was like, wait – if he can just be 'romanized', and if the other gods can have alter egos simply because the Romans believed that they did, then if other civilizations simply believed in a bunch of other gods, then wouldn't they become real?"

Annabeth was left slightly agape. "Crap," she said.

"Understatement of the year," said Jason.
