My first Indiana Jones Fanfic. I was inspired to write this after watching Raider's of the Lost Ark and then Listening to Rodney Atkin's song "Farmer's Daughter" Just something short and sweet, though in all honesty I hated writing the last couple of verses. So I'm going to make a deal with you all. If I get ten reviews on this story, I will write an AU alternate ending. So please, would you? P.S. I would like to apologize for Indy's bed grammar here, but it had to fit with the song. It may help, while you're reading to imagine the tune of the song.
~Here you go~
He came to me, a glint in his eye
Said he could teach me things, that was no lie
Come study with me, stay at my house
Learn all you can.
~IJ~
I said that's great, I'll go pack
We can go tomorrow, lets hit the sack
Thank you so much, I can't wait to start
I can feel it right now, well find that Ark
We left, the next night.
~IJ~
I was translating Abric, to English,
bent over sheets of 1000 year script
Tuning page after page,
All night long.
Then I was outside, digging through the dirt like a dog
~IJ~
I was cussing out loud, thinking 'bout quitting
Looking back now, I'm sure glad I didn't
"cause just when I thought it couldn't get no hotter
I caught a glimpse of the Professor's Daughter
~IJ~
She had just gotten there from New York city,
She was all tanned up and my kind of pretty
As we dug through the sand, I couldn't help but grin
And think "Man, I do love, my job."
~IJ~
As the days got hotter,
The talks got longer,
The kisses got sweeter and the feelings got stronger
So we'd hop in a tent and get all tangled up,
Every chance, we, got
~IJ~
We'd walk through the desert, all night long
When the sun came up, I was sneaking her home
And dragging my butt through the dirt
The smell of her perfume on my shirt
~IJ~
I'd be on a mound, she's be on my mind
With that Egyptian sun on this back of mine
And just when I thought it couldn't get no hotter,
I fell in love with the Professor's Daughter
~IJ~
Oh. I had to leave her last night.
And there ain't no greater pain for me.
~IJ~
I'm still translating Abric, to English
Bending over pages of 1000 year script
Turning page after page,
All night long
Her face in my mind all day long
~IJ~
I'd be at a desk, she'd be on my mind
And I'd be dreading quitting time
'Cause just when I thought it couldn't get no harder
I still think of the Professor's Daughter
~IJ~
Oh, the Professor's Daughter.
A/N: Tell me what you think! And review! I'm really itching to write that alternate ending!
