"Why would such a gorgeous lady like yourself be sitting outside alone when there's a party going on inside?"

"Logan? What the hell are you doing here?" asked a surprised Veronica. She was sitting on the bench outside of the Kane mansion drinking a glass of champagne.

"Geez, why is everyone giving me the third degree today?" replied an irritated Logan. He was now sitting next to Veronica. She looked gorgeous. She was wearing classy black dress that showed a little more skin than she usually would wear back in High School.

"I suppose it could be the fact that you lost touched with everyone for the last five years and you pick today to randomly appear and surprise us." answered Veronica.

"I'm a man of surprises." Logan said with a very big grin.

"Yeah, along with other things." mumbled Veronica who began to get up from the bench gathering her things to go back inside.

"Ouch. Why so touchy today?" questioned Logan.

"Can you just leave me alone for once?" asked Veronica. He didn't really get a good look at her but now that she was standing up he saw the look of defeat on her face.

"Aww, is someone sad that the Donut is finally getting married and its not to you?

"Like I would care that he's marrying some random bimbo."

"Jealous much?" he asked.

"And this is coming from the guy known for his jealous streak." she said sarcastically.

"Hey that is completely different plus I'm not the one in denial." shrugged Logan.

"This has nothing to do with me pining away for Duncan. That chapter in my life is over with. I'm just worried about him marrying some random girl when he still is on the rebound. He has never been the same since Meg broke it off. They haven't talked since. Of course, you would know this if you actually stayed around."

"Yeah, well I had places to go and people to see." he said while towering over her.

"Don't you mean places to see and people to do?" asked Veronica.

"You say it like you believe it." replied a smirking Logan.

"Oh but I do." she said without a doubt in her mind.
