Hey guys! Like usual, I went AWOL. This was just a very short one-shot on what I wish would have happened at the end of 10x12. And who knows, hopefully it still will. Leave a review and I'll love you forever.

And before I forget, if I owned these characters they would live happily ever after. But I don't and we're in Shondaland...so that place doesn't exist.

Time stood still as he waited for an answer.

"Do you?" Jackson asked her again, brave yet completely ridden with anxiety. He needed her to say yes, because at this point in time it was now or never for them. This was their story, where it either would finally start or come to an end. His hands grasped the Windsor knot of his necktie to quickly pull it loose. At least the physical feeling of chocking was gone.

The bride in front of him seemed at a loss. Stunned speechless in every sense of the word. She had put on good front and nearly convinced herself and everyone else that this was what she wanted. Jackson knew it wasn't and so did she. Deep down, Matthew had to know to...at least he thought so. He had to know that she loved Jackson, especially after the bus incident. A woman doesn't react like that to a man she just has a friendship with. He just wished it didn't take him this long to realize it too.

He was waiting for her to yell at him, scold him, and maybe even start hitting him. But she didn't. Instead she released a breath of air that she probably didn't know she was holding. Before she knew what she was doing she had left the pulpit and found Jackson.

They kissed. And it was literally like nothing they had ever felt before. In that moment, he knew he would never regret what he said to April. He couldn't say it enough.

The crowd gasped. There were a few shrill comments made from Matthew's side, but hers was the complete opposite, much to April's surprise.

Jackson grinned at her. "April, I love you so much. I always have. I've loved you since the first day I met you at Mercy West and you pulled out that little red notebook. I hate that it took me this long to realize it, I hate myself for that. But I get physically ill at the thought of you being someone else's."

He didn't plan anything to say to her, hell he didn't even originally plan on going to her wedding. But once he saw her made up for another man, he had to stop it.

"Dude, you've got to be kidding me." Matthew groaned somewhere in the background.

April had completely forgotten about him until she heard his grumble behind her. But it still didn't change anything.

She slowly turned around to look at Matthew. "I'm sorry." She promised him, ending her apology there. There really wasn't anything else for her to say. By now he had to know everything there was to be said. She loved him, he knew that. But she was in love with Jackson.

"I get it, I figured it out months ago. I guess I should have helped you do the same." He sighed, and walked towards them in the center aisle. Jackson held his hand out graciously, hoping to calm the storm now, before they ran into each other at work in the future. Matthew wasn't feeling as forgiving towards Avery as he was towards his ex-fiancée.

Right then Jackson and April knew what was coming. Matt pulled his fist back in a hurry and before anyone could stop it it ended up smashing across Jackson's face. And he took it. And he'd take that all day long if he had to. Because the pain Matthew could give him wouldn't have been anything compared to a lifetime without her.
