Lost Tale

The long forgotten tale of Redwall

Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Redwall, and most likely never will cries into Kleenex oh yes, and John is still the recorder in this story. His intro explains the entire story, kinda. Ans as apersonal request, would you PLEASE, PLEASE READ AND REVIEW. This is my first Redwall Fanfic.

From the diary of John Churchmouse, historian and recorder of Redwall Abbey in Mossflower country.

I am quite surprised that we recovered as much as we did from the Great Fire. Not to long ago,

the room that I keep all the diaries, caught in a sudden flame. Many of the books were destroyed,

but this one was one of the few that survived unscathed.

When I go over the past recordings, I realize how far Redwall has come, but what can I say

about it now? The Spring of Sapphire Skies, so far, there hasn't been a single rainfall and the

weather is just wonderful. Now that our Abbey is whole again, things are running smoothly

except for the re-energized DAB organization. Our young ones have returned and with them they

have brought plenty of new friends, as for Matthias, he has hung up his sword again and is

currently training Mattimeo with a wooden staff.

I myself am training my son, Tim, to become an Abbey recorder, Basil and Cheek are certainly

surprising the new Friar with their voracious appetites. Even now as I look across the Abbey

grounds, I can see the two of them tackling a full picnic basket filled with Foremole's specialty

deep 'n' ever pies. The Sparra have a new King, Yalefeather, and my, he is a big fellow. Auma

and her father Orlando have certainly settled in and now Orlando's axe hangs right below the

Sword of Martin. Constance is teaching Auma the ways of the Abbey mother and everything else

she knows. When the young ones grow, they will be a great force to protect the Abbey.

The Abbey is now once again at peace, and the Abbey itself has never looked more beautiful. The

red stone walls are standing stronger than ever and the orchard has never given us more fruit,

and as for the nuts? Well, now that we have our champion climbers, Jess and Sam, back we have

an abundance of hazelnuts, beechnuts, chestnuts and so on, and the Stump family have assured

us with the best batch of elderberry wine any of us have tasted. Old Ambrose Spike was a little

weary to hand over the cellar key to the Stump family. Eleven female hedgehogs and just poor

Jabez and Jube as the only males, good heavens.

Abbot Mordalfus has declared a season opening feast and all the Abbey dwellers are rushing

about getting prepared. The hustle and bustle has forced me out on the grounds, and without

any lunch!

The Matthias and Methuselah are tolling, I can hear them echoing in the wind. I think I'll end it

here for the day, and quiet frankly my paws are to tired to write on an empty stomach.
