I walked in,
She was there,
Smiling,
Like a best friend would,
I guess it makes sense,
She was my best friend,
After all,
"Hey Percy",
She greeted me,
Like every morning,
I smiled back,
We sat and talked,
But I noticed,
Noticed how lately,
Lately her smile changed,
Almost as if it were forced,
We drifted,
Drifted apart,
That month,
I guess,
It was the words,
The words that they said,
But she was too strong to let them hurt her,
I guess I was wrong,
For a month later,
That brings us to now,
I see her,
Annabeth,
On the front of the newspaper,
Dead,
Suicide
