Through the eyes of the dead
His bright blue eyes skimmed over my corpse picking up clues as to whom killed me his best and only friend the doctor takes notes of my many injuries silently conducting his own investigation in his head and coming up with his own theories hoping to catch up the brilliant intellect of his flat mate. I myself sit by my lifeless body and try to scream out to the two men who will soon avenge me in their own little way.
They cannot hear me but who could? If we were all capable of seeing ghosts there would never be a reason to mourn or ever feel loss, that is probably why death was first created in what Christians believe as 'God great plan' but personally I think it would just be creepy.
Another man walks into my bedroom- I lay dead in my bed- and talks to the doctor quietly the doctor nods silently before tapping the consulting detective on the shoulder signaling that it was time to go. The tall detective sighs looking unhappy at the news but nods and follows the doctor out. Surprisingly I find myself following them every sense I have telling me to do so. They take a cab back to baker street in which I sit awkwardly across from them, I don't know why I feel awkward I just do maybe it was the fact that they didn't know I was there or perhaps because I snuck in a cab with two complete strangers I will never know.
Once inside apartment 221B Baker Street the two men set about trying to solve my murder. As I already knew who had killed me and how they had done it I had absolutely no care about how they found my killer just that they did I looked around their apartment the smiley face in the wall full of bullet holes caught my eye first reminding me that I had always wanted to learn to shoot a gun and never got around to it. Next was the cluedo board stabbed into the opposite wall by the fireplace I hadn't played the game in years and the sight of it impaled on a wall brought a smile to my lips.
My self tour around their apartment was short lived as the detective jumped up yelling out to the doctor before hurrying out the door to the street outside and calling the cops before hailing yet another taxi and traveling to my assailants own home with his doctor and I in full tow.
The raid and arrest of my murderer took less that ten minutes once the police arrived. The killer had a gun at hand and was firing wildly at the police but was such a terrible shot that he managed to miss an entire police force before he was jumped by the consulting detective and was dragged outside and into the police car before being dragged off to Scotland yard for questioning.
Once it was all over and my killer was captured I went home to my empty apartment thinking 'well its good they caught the bastard, they just better not let him go or I will haunt them all' at that I smiled and disappeared from this world forever only to reappear in another one never to return.
