Authors Note: This is a short narrative story from Silvers POV, basically of him mourning about the loss of Blaze, based off of Silvers' story ending from Sonic Next-Gen. SilverXBlaze is suggested, even though I'm not a big fan of the pairing I decided to do this anyway. Hope you all enjoy my random and short splurge.
This is Sunlight
Sunlight…is that what it really looks like? I'd heard people describe it…but never had I imagined it to be like this. So warm…and welcoming.
The dark cloud which had loomed ominously overhead for so long is now gone.
All I had known before this was darkness and destruction; the only source of light being the very thing that was killing this planet. But now that curse, that monster, has been extinguished; and now we are able to live a life where we don't have to hide in the shadows, we don't have to fear if tomorrow will be our last, or dread the battle that lies ahead.
And what was the price for such a wonderful gift?
…
The only friend I ever had…she sacrificed herself for this world because I wasn't able to, because I wasn't strong enough.
Whenever I had lost hope, or doubted myself or the once dismal future, she was always there to find that lost hope, and to comfort me. She…was the only one who cared…and now she's gone.
There's not a day that goes by that I don't remember her. I keep telling myself to move on, but I can't…I can't forget her! But she wanted me to live; she wanted everyone to have a chance at happiness. So instead of relying on the past, I will live for her; I will preserve her memory...and think of her every time that I feel the sunlight.
Authors Note: Okay, I wrote this about a month ago and only until now did I decide to submit it, I know it's not my best...but it's the only decent thing that's come out of me since my last entry.
