Could I lie to the boy? She would have told him how I had turned pirate and left her alone,
which is her story and not the one I would tell him if I could.
Could I lie to the boy? I heard he's been looking for me, whether to embrace me or hold a pistol to my head I know not.
Could I lie to the boy? No, this cannot be the day for him to learn the infamous name that will end his search and bring the bitter disappointment of the truth.
