"An Ending of Lives"

This is dedicated to my best friend Sarah Poe. Because of her I was able to survive BMT. I love you sis!

Hogwarts was in ruins; it's crumbling towers smoking. Bodies littered the ground in heaps. Some faces were recognizable, others black with burns. The dark and the light had come together in a climactic battle, forever shaking the foundations of the Wizarding world.

"Did you ever think it would come to this?" a weary voice asked. A figure looked up, her face tear streaked.

"No Harry, I had hoped it wouldn't."

The man shook his head, sending his shaggy black hair flying around his face. He knelt by his twin and took her blood stained hands in his.

"I'm so sorry Sarah," he whispered through the knot in his throat. Slate blue eyes stared into his emerald as a sneer crossed her pale lips.

"HE'S DEAD HARRY! You didn't kill him…his master did. So don't apologize to me. Just kill that damned snake and we'll call it even."

Harry rose stiffly to his feet, his body tense. Something didn't feel right to him and it left a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. His sister smiled suddenly, a reminder of past times.

"Have I told you lately how much I love you Harry James Potter?"

He smiled back and bent to kiss her upraised cheek. Her curly black hair brushed against his face, tickling it. He laughed slightly, answered by her giggles.

"Not as much as I love you Sarah Lily Potter."

A tear dripped down her sooty face, going unnoticed by her brother. He gathered up his wand and turned proudly towards his ultimate enemy. His strides were confident and sure. She watched him, a glint in her eyes before turning to the body in her arms. She ran a hand softly through his bloody platinum locks. A soft, loving smile crossed her lips as she brushed them against his cold cheek.

"He'll win Draco, and then the world will be at peace…I just wish I could be as strong as him…"

She picked up her lover's wand and held it up to her chest. She gave a shuddering breath as she closed her eyes to the world.

"Good-bye dear brother…win for me…AVADA KADAVARA!"
