Staring down the End

Disclaimer: I do not own Supernatural, or Gabriel or Lucifer I just use them to my own advantage. This is AU writing, where he didn't die in the motel and Lucifer actually does bring the apocalypse. This will be a one shot story.

Gabriel looked out on the world, sucking on a cherry flavored lollipop, one that your doctor might give you. Course he didn't need a doctor to get the lollipop, he just snapped his finger and there it was. See, that was the perks of being an archangel , you could just pop into existence your favorite thing, like women, and candy (in no particular order of course, well let's face it, the women would come first). He looked out over the scene in front of him, from a distance of course. He knew it was coming, had even encouraged it from Sam and Dean, and he was ready for the consequences. He knew what would happen, and he just wanted it to end. Could you blame a guy? His family had been fighting for an eternity, and he just wanted it to end. He wanted the peace that Heaven was supposed to offer, and damn him if he wasn't going to get it.

A blinding light flashed faster than a speeding bullet as Lucifer overcame Sam and took control. "It's the end." He said, a smirk to his lips and a half eaten lollipop dangling in his hands. He sighed before sensing someone else in the room with him. He already knew who it was, had expected that this would come at any moment, and turned around slowly in his favorite wheelie chair. His grey eyes slowly took in the sight of Lucifer, in all his glory (and in Sam's body). This was something that he had been looking forward to for a very long time. All that running, and hiding, had all come down to this pivotal moment. This one second on a sunny afternoon.

"Hello Brother." Gabe was the first to break the silence that was strung as tight as a thread in the room that Gabriel himself had fashioned. Before he could say more, he registered the pain in his stomach and looked down, to find his own sword puncturing right through his stomach. Lucifer twisted the blade, causing a blinding light to come from Gabriel's eyes and mouth, signifying that he was really dead. That was one angel down, and plenty more to go for Lucifer. He removed the blade as the limp body slumped over in the chair.

His last parting words to Gabriel:

"Goodbye, Brother."
