I tried to write a song-fic for the song; I really did. Alas nothing came to mind that I was finding myself pleased with. The song is Dakota by Stereophonics. I own nothing. Sad but true. Enjoy.
They say your first lover is the best one you will ever have. The one that even decades later, perhaps with a spouse that helped you create a bunch of kids and later grandkids you'll still smile at the memory of the first. Everything was new, exciting, you knew about it, heard stories, watched images on late night cable and hid dirty magazines under the sheets, but still all knowledge of what you knew it would be like is thrown out the window, and replaced with something even stronger and more beautiful. If you are lucky enough your first lover becomes your first and last lover, the only one you'll ever have and ever desire.
Molly was mine. Though I wasn't hers the treasure moment isn't any weaker or hold less importance. It's stronger actually, because she knew more, could teach me, so the awkward moments didn't enter into play and slow anything down. We had no beginning, we had no middle, and we had no end. All we had was that moment where nothing was able to touch us except for each other.
I wanted more, and hell I know she wanted more. To take us further and make a relationship out of the near impossible. Cities are built from crumbles of ash that were told could never be again. A man has walked on the moon. The impossible that came to be despite the odds against it. We could have been possible, only if she was willing to try. Only if I had pushed her more.
We hardly ever speak of that night in Georgia. I know my reasons of why, but for hers I don't know. I find it pleasing that a smile spreads to her face, a secret smile held and meant only for my eyes and for me to understand. A smile to say I wish it could be more but this all I can offer. All that I can give. I have had a few lovers since that night all were nice; each had something different to share with me. I must say I do agree that the first is the best I will ever have.
Thinking back, thinking of you
Summertime, think it was June
Yeah think it was June
Laying back, head on the grass
Chewing gum, having some laughs
Yeah having some laughs
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
Drinking back, drinking for two
Drinking with you
When drinking was new
Sleeping in the back of my car
We never went far
Didn't need to go far
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
I don't know where we are going now
I don't know where we are going now
Wake up call, coffee and juice
Remembering you
What happened to you
I wonder if we we'll meet again
Talking about life since then
Talk about why did it end
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
You made me feel like the one
You made me feel like the one
The one
I don't know where we are going now
I don't know where we are going now
So take a look at me now
So take a look at me now
So take a look at me now
So take a look at me now
So take a look at me now
