A deep snarl sounded, jostling Jason Canmore from his medicated slumber. Glowing white hot eyes were trained on him from the shadows. Demon, he thought, the leader. Goliath.
"Your discussions with Elisa will stop."
Oh, his ego piqued some by the Demon's obvious insecurity. "Will it now? I believe that's up to Elisa to decide- but I wonder how she would feel about you coming over and threatening me."
The creature drew closer. "You twist words and play on Elisa's sympathies, cast doubt in her heart."
Elisa had never come out and said to him that she had feelings for Goliath but he wasn't stupid. Even a blind man could see that she'd been swayed by the beast.
"Maybe you're just a bad fit for her-"
There was a gush of air as his wings flapped and spread wide. His massive hands gripped the hospital bed and shook under his anger and weight. "Another word an I'll see to it you never speak again!"
"And you'll prove to her that all you gargoyles are, are the demons I believed you to be. I saved your life and ruined mine because of my faith in her, her belief in you!"
Another deep growl escaped Goliath, but he eased back.
"Elisa's a good woman. She deserves better than what you can give her."
A sore spot, one Elisa and Goliath had touched on just days before. Before Thailog's attack.
Jason was about to continue when Goliath spoke, "I may not be able to father her a child, or be a proper husband, but we share something indescribable. You will never match me in the love I feel for Elisa or how I will make her feel. I'm sure of this."
Goliath made his way the the hospital window. "Elisa is not certain as I am. If you continue to interfere with us I will return." He readied his wings for an updraft. "and I will see to it that you never come between us again."
A moment later the gargoyle was gone. Jason huffed, "he understands- my ass."
