"Everyone knows about pirates, the big, scary, one legged pirates who ruled the seas and plundered and buried treasure, but there is one pirate that no one knows about. Shall I tell you about him?

"He was a pirate that struck fear into even the most brave of sailors. Captain of the ship 'Eleven' he was a bloodthirsty, violent man. Some even said that he wasn't a man at all, but that he was a demon who commanded a crew of animals. He was huge, twice the size of a normal man, with his hair styled in spikes on top of his head which made him even taller and bells on top of each spike which rang out whenever he took a step. He wore an eye-patch and a jagged sword which could cut through anything and he never, ever, lost a fight. Scary huh?

"But he had a crew almost as scary as him. Filled with the strongest fighters on the seas and run by his two mates, the Bald Demon and the Feathered Peacock. Nobody knew where his two mates came from, although everyone knew that they had known each other long before they sailed on the Captain's ship. The Bald Demon was almost as good a fighter as the Captain, and he would follow his Captain anywhere, even if it were to hell. He would be seen at the front of any battle, swinging onto the enemy ship before anyone else, eager to draw first blood. Even though everyone knew he was bald anyone who told reminded him would find themselves in a very sorry state indeed. In fact the only people he allowed to call him bald was his Captain and the Feathered Peacock, who he could never catch.

"And the Feathered Peacock? People said that every battle he won he would become more beautiful. There was no man on the world that was more vain than him, but he was just as loyal as the bald demon and also very clever; while the others were out fighting and drinking he would run the ship all on his own until they came back.

"There was one other important member of the crew though. A little girl with pink hair that the Captain found in a shipwreck one day and rescued. He raised her like his own child and nobody on that ship would allow her to come to harm, even if it meant laying down their life for her because the Captain loved her so much and they knew that if they let her get hurt then the captain would kill them. You know what that little girls name was? It was Yachiru, just like yours, and she sailed the high seas with the most feared crew of pirates that had ever existed.

And they all had lots of different adventures together. They fought demons from the sky and other ships that wanted to put them in prison and invaders from other lands."

The man stopped his tale and his craggy face broke into a smile as he looked down at the little girl blinking sleepily as she curled under the covers. "But for now its your sleep time."

The girl reached out to catch his sleeve as he bent to kiss her. "Will you tell me more? About the adventures they had?"

"Of course. I'll tell you about the time the Bald Demon fought the orange haired invader, and when the Captain fought a giant insect, but for now you need to go sleep."

Once she had finally settled down and was snoring gently he eased himself up from the chair by her bed and crept out of the room. He was met in the hall by his wife, who smiled at him softly. "Retsu. I didn't know you were listening to Yachiru's bed-time stories too."

Her smile widened. "They are quite something to listen to. I don't know where you get all these ideas from...bald demons and feathered peacocks. You should write them down so you don't forget them."

The man whose friends called him Kenpachi shrugged and bent down to peck his wife on the cheek. "Maybe. I don't think I'll forget them though, its like I've always known them, I just had to put them into words. Sounds weird huh?"

Don't you just think they would make brilliant pirates? I do! ^_^ Anyway, as always I love to hear your comments and suggestions.
