"Someone help! You have to stop the bleeding!" Kurt yelled, but no one was there but her and a bleeding Diane Lockhart. He didn't know what happened until there was gunfire and there she was on the ground with a wound in her chest.
"Kurt." Diane mumbled again and again as Kurt yelled for help and allowed the tears to stream down his face. He took her head into his lap and was petting her hair in hopes that it would calm down the situation.
"Please." Diane said before her eyes shut. Kurt blinked once and then started to lightly shake her.
"Diane? Diane." He kept repeating her name has he brought her into his lap and hugged her motionless form.
"Kurt, it's time to wake up." Kurt heard as his eyes fluttered open. His breath was ragged as he looked up to see Diane stroking his head. "You were having a nightmare."
Kurt brought himself up quickly and he took one hand and pulled Diane close and kissed her. He needed to touch her and know that she was still there.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Diane asked pulling away, blinking twice.
"You were bleeding out and I couldn't do anything." He said without hesitation, "I thought you were going to die."
"I am not going anywhere anytime soon. Now we are going to lie down and you can hold me and touch me to prove that I am still here." Diane told him as she settled back down into bed and he followed right after her.
"I love you." Kurt said moving her blond hair out of her face and his kissed her forehead. He started to close his eyes, but Diane was still wide awake.
"It's been a year and he loves me? He loves me." Diane thought to herself as she pressed her head onto his chest, "I love you too."
