Rose Weasley and Albus Potter raced to find a compartment, one part excited and two parts terrified to finally be going to Hogwarts.

When they finally found an empty compartment, it wasn't long before a white haired boy they recognized from the platform opened the door. "Hi," said Scorpius Malfoy, "All the other compartments are either full or have older students – oh. I guess I'll go look some more." He said awkwardly when he saw who was in the compartment.

"No, it's alright, stay." Albus said.

"Albus, you idiot!" Rose hissed loud enough for Scorpius to hear, "You know my dad said I couldn't get 'too friendly' with him!"

Albus smiled. "So don't. I'll make friends while little Rosie sits in the corner reading."

"Git." Rose said, but stayed put.

As one could imagine, the next few minutes were awkward. At least until Scorpius noticed the cage next to Albus.

"Cool!" he said, momentarily forgetting that the Weasleys and Potter didn't like the Malfoys, "Is that a ferret!"

Albus nodded, as it was indeed a little brown-and-black ferret.

"I've always wanted one." Scorpius said wistfully, "But my father is adamantly against it."

"My daddy was all for Albus getting a ferret. In fact, he wanted Albus to get a white one and name it Draco. Mum told him not to, because it was mean. I'm not quite sure what they were talking about, but isn't your dad Draco?" Rose asked. Of course she knew that, but it was fun seeing him squirm.

"Erm…yes?" Scorpius replied, before quickly changing the subject, "What's his name?"

"Who's? Oh, the ferrets, its Tony." Albus said.

Oh. Nic name, I suppose. What house do you want to be in?" Scorpius asked.

Albus said, "Gryffindor, though dad said that he wouldn't care what house I end up in." he was careful to leave out the part about not wanting to be in Slytherin.

"I want to be in Gryffindor, though Ravenclaw sounds good to, and my dad wouldn't be to terribly disappointed. Hufflepuff is okay, and I'm sure plenty of nice people came from it, but I'd rather have the formers. Of course, I really don't want to be in-" and then she stopped, remembering who she was sitting across from.

"It's okay." Scorpius said, "I know it isn't a much loved house."

"So what house do you want?" Albus asked.

"Well, Slytherin or Ravenclaw, I guess, or…or Gryffindor."

"Wouldn't your dad be angry?" Rose asked.

"I'd certainly hope not. It's just, I don't think I will be a Gryffindor. I'm not brave."

"Well, you are sitting in a compartment with a Weasley and a Malfoy, aren't you?"Albus said.

"I-I suppose I am." Scorpius smiled.

Over the years, the three became inseparable friends. The "Silver Trio", if you will.

Who would have thought it would all start with a ferret?

I'm in a HP writing rush!

Anywho, I was thinking about how cute Albus' ferret was in TDHp2, and that led me thinking to how Albus, Rose, and Scorpius should be friends, which led to this.

You may also be wondering why the ferrets name is Tony. You see, my family used to own ferrets name Al, Tony, and Avi. I obviously couldn't make it Al, and I think od Albus' ferret as a boy, and Avi was a girl. So thats my reasoning.
