Alice in the Deck
Prologue
"UGHH ", Alice groaned. "Why is my life so miserable? What did I ever do in my past life? Was I a bad person back then? I don't know anymore!"
Alice Mays, a lone teenager who struggles hard to live, ends up wandering around the streets after getting kicked out from a small orphanage because she threw a fit and complained about how unfair their treatment to her was. Hence, she had nowhere to go and nothing to eat. A lot of time had passed and Alice was still walking thoughtlessly but suddenly, she bumped someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry", she apologized to the guy she bumped in to. The guy was holding a folder full of papers and all of it got scattered around so Alice helped him arrange it.
"It's okay, ma'am", the guy said with a soft voice. Alice looked at the guy but she couldn't see his face that well because he was wearing a hat.
While picking up the rest of the papers, a strange looking picture of an old pocket watch fell. Alice was about to reach for it but then the guy snatched it as fast as he can.
"Thank you, ma'am. I will be on my way now", the guy said, looking a little flustered.
She watched the guy walking away. Strangely after a few minutes, it started to snow while the sun sets on the horizon.
