I may return to this as a longer story at some point. I don't know what shape the plot would be, but the potential setting is absolutely fantastic.
Her attempts to escape the bloodbending were almost endearing. It was completely hopeless of course. Years of practice, control, and power were not to be overcome by one girl flexing her muscles. When she refused to give it up, it became a little more irritating. I dragged her through the air behind me, but she never stopped struggling. I had one hand stretched to the side to hold her while I tried to sort through my key ring to unlock the Satomobile's door. She tried as hard as she could to thrash back and forth, but she gasped when I tightened my grip. That was a good sound to hear. I couldn't help a little smile and clenched my fist even tighter. She would bend to me. There was the right key. I turned it in the lock and flexed my other hand one last time before I turned back to her. The agonizing crack echoed through the quiet room.
I spun, hardly able to understand what that noise meant. She stared back at me with equal disbelief. She hung limply in the air now, but surely that was just because she stopped fighting. Surely. I lowered her slowly to the ground, letting her feet settle against the tiles. I dropped my hand and for a moment I thought she would stand, but her legs buckled and she collapsed to the floor. Her arms moved to prop herself up, but her legs remained twisted and motionless. She looked at her herself, up to me, and back down to her legs. I could hardly comprehend what had happened. Her lips moved without words, but I already knew what she was saying to me.
What have you done?
