Her smile flits upon her face. His arms are over her dainty shoulders. They talk. They kiss. They think to themselves. But, nothing is what it should be on the outside.

If the outside mirrored the inside, you'd see the fights. The tears. They angery kisses they share. You'd wonder how they over up the pain that still lingers deep inside, underneath the Cheerios uniform.

And the letterman's jacket.

Just a smile.

He screams at her. She yells back at him. They fight, and they touch and they love. But, when morning comes, he's gone. He's hiding underneath the sheets. She hears her father come back to hurt. She hides in him. They hide, like little five year olds. They both cry too. She knows the red hot stinging sensation of a slap.

So does he.

The next day, they hide the pain.

Just a smile.

He stares into the empty space. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone. She's gone.

Gone. Gone. Gone. Gone.

He can't hide it anymore.

He can't.

He's breaking.

He screams.

Can anyone hear?

He smiles.

Just a smile.

She listens to his tears. She knows her name. She knows the name. She cannot bring herself to speak the name.

She hears it all around her.

People come up to say how sorry they are.

She forces out a thanks.

Covering the sadness is a broken smile.

Just a smile.

They look at the grave. They want to love again. Not be broken. To not have to smile.

But they still do.

But can anyone see the differece?

Just a smile.

His smile breaks.

He starts to cry.

He is shaking.

She watches.

She cannot speak.

So, she cries.

They cry.

No one can smile.

Just a smile.

Everyone stares.

One person wishes to help.

He stares at them.

He comes over to them.

She pushes him away.

She screams at all of them.

They see the bruises on her face.

They yell at him.

They cannot see his bruises.

She cries again.

Beth.

She cries.

And on her lips.

Is sadness.

Just a smile.

He gets a lot of shit for someone else's fault.

No one listens to him.

He doesn't smile anymore.

She doesn't look anymore.

Nothing overs up the pain anymore.

Just a smile.

Doesn't make everything go away anymore.

Arrrgh, depressing Madi. This is a Puck/Quinn relationship story. It's suppose to be a little sketchy. For those who wonder, Beth died.

Lots of Love!

And for those who were folloing 'What She Used To Be' It won't be continued most likely.

Bad author, bad author.

But, on the bright side! A new story will appear, of many odd pairings for friendship.

Spoilers for the story: They are all in elementary. And Matt&Mike won't be featured, because they are only to be bff's for ever.

That is all!
