"Happy Birthday~!"
A familiar voice echoed in the room as the boy opened his eyes.
"Ungh..." The boy forced himself up and rubbed his eyes as what the woman said registered in his mind. It's his birthday!
"Did you sleep well? Come~! I'll show you something~" The woman lead him outside of his room and they went into the dining room.
He wasn't able to think of anything else. It was as if his mind was free from any thoughts; he went along the flow of the story as he let himself savor what he was feeling that very moment.
"Happy birthday, son." the woman said as they reached the dining room.
There were food prepared enough for two people, and a simple birthday cake with a "Happy Birthday!" written on it.
His eyes filled up with tears as the woman hugged him. Of course, he hugged her back. He wouldn't let go of this moment; a moment filled with joy and love. He couldn't speak. He wanted to say thank you, but he was overcome by his emotions that overflowed inside of him.
Kano suddenly gained consciousness and the first thing he saw was the ceiling of his room in their apartment.
He covered his eyes with his right arm, as tears flowed through his cheek.
A few moments later, he heard a few series of knocking on his door.
"Kano? Are you awake yet?" Kido said from the other side of the door.
He wiped his tears and went to open the door.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY~!"
He was surprised as everyone in the dan was standing in front of his room; Kido was holding a cake that she made, Seto was holding some balloons, Marry was throwing the confetti along with Momo, Shintaro was holding Ene along with a small box, and Hibiya and Konoha were holding boxes of gifts for him.
"This day is full of surprises, huh." he said in his mind as he let out a big smile and was unaware that a drop of tear flowed out from his eye.
Everyone lead him to the dining room and started the celebration of his birthday...
