I hope you enjoy my story about Bethany Hamilton the girl in soul surfer!

I was dreaming…

I asked my mom if I could stay and swim. She just walked away. I walked into the cool water. I took another step, something grabbed my foot. I was being dragged into the ocean. The teeth felt like a knife, and the skin felt like sand paper.

"HELP, HELP ME, there's a SHARK" I choked as my tears clogged my throat. Mom appeared stared at me and walked away.

"Bethany" my mom said as she shook me to wake up. I was hot and sweaty. Tears were rolling down my cheek.

"Are you feeling alright"? mom asked as she felt my head. "Nightmare" I replied. Mom paused for a moment and sighed. "What's wrong"? I asked my mother.

"Was it another shark dream"?

I nodded. "Well get your babying suit on" mom said as she left the room.

I opened my closet. 10 babying suits were hanging saying pick me! I am obsessed with babying suites. I picked a babying suit that was black and had blue flowers across the top. The bottom of it was flowers. I picked my surf board that was all flowers. I quickly brushed my teeth and hair. I ran down stairs, grabbed a plate of Bacon and eggs. My family fallowed me out the door. In the car I listened to the song: set the world on fire by: Britt Nicole. When we got there my father hugged me and looked me straight in the eye.

"Fans are going to be cheering you on don't let them distract you"

"I won't" I replied

"I love you munchkin" dad said and gave me a hug.

I sat and waited as other surfers were called to surf. Then I heard loud on the speaker

"Bethany Hamilton". Fans cheered. I grabbed my surf board and ran out into the ocean. I waded into the water. Jumped onto my surf board and kicked out to where I needed to be.

I waited for the perfect wave then all of the sudden something bumped into me. Sand paper skin, I felt it. I looked down, there was a black blur. I looked harder; I could make out a shark…

"SHARK"! I screamed at the top of my lungs. I kicked my feet as fast as I could. All I could see was a fin. People were panicking. "Don't let me get attacked God please don't, not me again". Then I went into shock, not moving but thinking. Then peoples voices blocked out of my head. It was just me, ocean, and the shark. I saw a wave appear. Steadily I put my only hand on the board, lifted my foot up and then my hand slipped. I put my hand back on the board as quick as I could so I could catch the wave. I lifted my foot up to find myself standing on the board all safe and sound. I surfed all the way to the sand.

People swarmed me. My family ran to hug me.

"I thought you died when you were in shock" mom said while she was crying. I thought to myself, how come the shark didn't attack me? "Thank you god" I said in a whisper while everyone I knew hugged me. Then the speaker came on: "a parentally since there is a shark in the water and surfers still need to surf, the competition is canceled although we would like to congratulate Bethany Hamilton for surviving the shark and making a beautiful surf up the beach". Tears rolled down my cheeks of joy.
