Chapter 1: Finally!

Before I begin this fanfic, I'd just like to take a second to thank my friends who all in some way or another inspired O.C.'s for this story! With that out of the way, enjoy The Journey!
"Allen! Get up! You're going to be late for getting your first Pokemon," the boy's mother yelled. "I was just about to leave mom," the boy replied drowsily. He got dressed and ran to Professor Redwood's lab. "Oh hello Allen," the middle-aged man said with a grin. "I'm glad you made it because you see, there's someone I'd like you to meet. This is my granddaughter, Kari." The girl was tall and had shoulder-length dark brown hair. Allen noticed that she had already chosen her first Pokemon. It was a Mudkip. The small, blue fishlike Pokemon walked beside her. "Um.. hi Allen, my grandfather has told me all about you and how you'd soon be getting your first Pokemon. Since we're around the same age, he asked me to join you on the journey since coincidentally, I'm also starting my Pokemon journey.
"Well Allen, do you have any objections?"
"No, none at all, in fact, I think it'd be better if I had someone tag along with me!"
"Good, well, now that that's settled, there is something I'd like you to see." Allen walked over to the table with the Professor and Kari. On the table were three Poke Balls. Allen stared intently wondering what Pokemon would be inside them.
"There are three Pokemon inside these Poke Balls. We have Cyndaquil: the Fire Mouse Pokemon, Totodile: the Water Crocodile Pokemon, and Chikorita: the Grass Pokemon. Allen, which one would you like to choose?"
This question stayed in his mind for a few moments but he finally was able to decide.
"Professor, I think I'll choose Totodile," Allen said with a sense of conviction.
"I see, that's a good choice," the professor said shaking his head.
With those parting words, Allen and Kari were ready to leave Treetop Town. After a few parting words and a hug for his mother, the two youth set out on the adventure of a lifetime. Allen with his Totodile by his side and Kari with her Mudkip.
