Third TLOS fic, so, try not to flame me!

Slowly, I felt my conciseness gaining, until I could open my newly developed eyes. Fragments of black shell surrounded me, like shards of the night sky, glittering coldly. I was still covered in mucus from my egg, it felt... slimy, and not in the very least satisfying. I scanned the room, my hazy blue orbs swiveling. I was in a cell of sorts, damp as a coal mine. Cold gray bricks lined the walls, and in the front was a barred door. I laid in the farthest corner on a pile of soiled hay.

After a few failed attempts, I stood on wobbly legs, barley able to hold up my head, which seemed too big in comparison to my body. I took a cautious step forward, and fell flat, knocking my chin on the hard stone floor. I let out a bawl, my sounds of pain echoing about the cold room.

I heard a scrabbling from outside my cell, and a big, ugly beast peered between the bars with bloodshot eyes. It lifted its snout and barked, the eerie tones bounced through my soul, causing a seed of terror to sprout. It looked at me, our eyes locking for a moment. The beast reached forward to open the door, when a beam of green light slammed into it, drawing forth a scream of death as it was knocked from my line of sight. I cowered deep in my hay, even though the smell of filth was strong.

Another big, ugly, hairy beast stepped in front of my cell, though, this one was scarier. It was massive! It's teeth glittering as it laughed. It grabbed the handle of my cell door with big, filthy mitts, and wrenched it open. I cried in terror as it stooped and picked me up by the head.

It said something I could not understand, then, squeezed my head. A squeal of agony pealed from my mouth, and the beast laughed at my pain. Fury welled up inside my tiny body, and I lashed out with sharp baby claws, scoring along the beasts face. It grunted, jumping back, and let go of me. I landed with a thump, all the air expelled from my body.

I sat in a dazed stupor as the beast yelled in a language I had no knowledge of, clutching at it's eye. It removed it's paw from it's ugly face, and I felt triumph within. I had gouged out it's eye, leaving a bloodied socket, the eye itself laying on the ground near my paws. The thing reached down, grabbing me by my tail, growling in anger, then it gave a mad laugh. Was it... pleased that I had done this? I had no way of knowing.

It threw me in the air, spinning me several times, then caught me neatly by my midsection. I whimpered, severely nauseous from being spun, and if I had anything in my small stomach, I would have emptied it then and there. The thing began to walk, myself still in it's grasp as it lumbered away from my cell, and up several flights of stairs until I could see light.

It walked down several corridors, until it found the room it desired. It cracked the door and threw me in, then slammed the door, not even checking to make sure I landed fine.

My head reeled with many emotions as a lay on the carpeted floor; fear, anger, hatred. I was overwhelmed, and sadness overruled all, causing me to break down into a multitude of screams, as I sang my sorrows to the cold, forbidding world.

After a while, my eyelids drooped, and I fell asleep, drained from my meltdown, my small frame quivering with small sobs as I was whisked away into an uneasy sleep, plagued by dreams of giant, hairy monsters, and gouged eyes.

Wow, I am so sorry for the uber short chapter, only 722 words :( But, come on, it's not like Cynder's first day alive was any longer than a few hundred words. I will update eventually, I have a very busy schedule involving two other fics, which I bounce between. I hope you enjoyed the first chappie! Please leave a review, but you don't have to, so, no pressure :D
