It was just a normal day, and by normal I meant Jay forgot to get flowers for Nya for their anniversary, and now Jay was dragging poor ol' Lloyd along with him.
They weren't going anywhere special, just headed to a flower shop in Ninjago, which rised up fast and is still very new, but many people love the shop. It be a very nice one.
The outside of the shop looked beautiful, flowers in bouquets and just the white and pale dusty pink complemented each other.
Jay took in a small breath and said. "Okay, get a bouquets and be on your way."
"Aren't you nervous?" Lloyd said with a small chuckle. "Don't worry, just get the flowers and be your good old punny self."
"Right. I can do that." Jay said. "Puns and jokes shoot through me."
"I feel like that was a pun."
"Shocking?"
"No, not rea-" When it hit Lloyd he let out a loud groan as Jay began to laugh at him. "Just go get your flowers ya idiot." Lloyd soon began to join in on the laughter. Seemed to be that Jay's nerves just slowly vanished.
Jay and Lloyd stopped their laughing and headed inside, there wasn't actually much to say, it was just as beautiful, the flowers looked super amazing and was quite unique, the floor was actually a pale yellow and the walls were white with that same dusy pink on it, in the form of flowers that is.
"Hi there!" A cheery voice spoke up from the right side of them. "My name is Lark. Is there anything I can assist you with today?"
She looked super nice. The first thing Lloyd noticed about this girl was her eyes and smile. She just had such a friendly look, like you can speak to her about anything. She also seemed very familiar, so familiar it could hurt. Like... so familiar, where has he seen her before? Her violet eyes just stand out so much.
"Hi, uh, where are the bouquets?" Jay asked.
Lark smiled and pointed to the left side. "Over there is where the bouquets are, you can just pick out flowers for us to make you one, or you can buy one of the pre-made ones."
"Thanks." Jay slowly slinked away in the direction and began looking at the flowers, clearly think of which would be best for Nya.
Lark let out a sigh and mumbled with a small laugh. "You'd think he'd know by now."
"Huh?" Lloyd turned to the girl and tilted his head in confusion.
"Jay comes here all the time for flowers." Lark explained. "I guess with him always out fighting he wouldn't remember." Was what she ended with before turning and walking over to the counter, starting to make conversation with a red head girl. "I guess I should stop telling him my name though." She added with a laugh. "I was there for the wedding, I can safely say I can atleast be a friend."
Lloyd looked over to Jay who was distracted and looked over at Lark who was now helping a customer. He wanted to ask more about the wedding, but stayed silent. It explained why she look so familiar though, she was that girl who awkwardly stayed away from everyone.
The girl he tried to make conversation with and befriend, and that he failed to do miseraly. She seemed so much more social now.
Lloyd walked over to Jay who had already picked out the flowers and was just looking at bows.
"What about that blue and red one?" Lloyd asked Jay, pointing at the blue ribbon with red on the outer side of it with glitter on the red.
"Maybe." Jay said, his face full of seriousness, something Lloyd wasn't used to seeing. "Nya deserves the best one." He declared.
"No doubt about that." Lloyd chuckled softly. "But I really think she'll love it no matter what since it's a gift from your heart."
"I thought you didn't like hearing mushy things and now you're telling me those things?" Jay laughed. "You're right though."
"I'm right about a lot of things." Lloyd said proudly. "Maybe you should listen to me more often."
"Haha." Jay laughed. "Oh kiddo, maybe, to me you're still a young little kid.
Lloyd rolled his eyes and said. "Okay Grandpa."
Jay let out another laugh before picking the teal and purple ribbon and going over to the counter. "I'm not that much older then you." Jay told him, standing in line.
"I'm aware, but if I'm a kiddo, you're a Grandpa."
"Point taken." Jay chuckled as they moved forward and set the items on the counter.
"Did you have trouble finding anything?" A familiar voice spoke up. It was Lark, Lark was going to be ringing them up it seemed.
"Nope, not at all." Jay grinned, looking much more relaxed now that he was getting the gift.
Lark smiled. "That's good to hear." She began to pull the flowers gently out of their plastic wrap and began her work. "Any news on what's been happening?" She asked without looking up.
"Eh, nothing really. Been kinda dead lately." Jay answered. "I thought you didn't like hearing about fights and things related to what we do, or just thought fighting in general is wrong?"
"I do, my best friend doesn't though, so I figured I'll suck it up and see if there were anything to tell her." Lark responded with a half shrug.
"Are you a pacifist?" Lloyd asked curiously. "Or just hate hearing about fights?"
"Lloyd!" Jay sighed. "One day, you and I need to do some inventing together so I can teach you something about time. And. Place."
Lark let out a small giggle. "No, I really don't mind. I guess you can call me a pacifist. Besides, fighting crime is better then causing fights for no reason, I live in Ninjago anyway, I don't think anyone here likes to hear about fights anymore, or anything of the topic."
"That is true." Lloyd hummed slightly at her answer. She had a very valid point.
"You think people would move from Ninjago with the amount of stuff that happened." Jay said.
"I guess so." Lark shrugged. She cut off some ribbon and tied a quick, but lovely bow around the flowers before putting them in their wrap and handed them to Jay. "Here ya go."
"Thanks, how much do I owe you?" Jay asked.
"Think of it as a thank you gift for risking your life for all of us." Lark smiled. "If the rest of you guys like flowers, I can make you all a bouquet."
"Oh no." Lloyd said shaking his hands slightly. "As much as it would be appreciated, just seeing you all happy is the best gift of all."
Lark raised an eyebrow. "Lloyd, you're coming here tomorrow and I'm making you all a small gift."
Jay laughed and said. "Better listen to her Lloyd. Thank you so much, Lark." He smiled to her. Jay pulled out his wallet and put in a large tip in the tip jar and a large donation for helping save the bees.
Lark stayed silent for a bit, a tad shocked perhaps. "Thank you." She finally got out.
Jay laughed and said. "Thank you for the flowers."
Lloyd watched the exchanged and a small smile was on his lips.
"Lloyd, you're stil coming tomorrow." She said to the green ninja. "Jay, can you please remind him." She asked the lightning ninja.
"Of course! You can count on me!" Jay responded.
"Please don't shock me." Lloyd said with a small grin, and a tad look of fear.
Lark shrugged and said. "It would be shocking if he didn't."
Lloyd let out a low groan and said with a sigh. "I'm trapped."
"You sure are." Lark winked and said. "Have a good day, you guys."
"You too! Thanks once again, Lark." Jay called out as they began to leave the shop.
"Thank you too!" Lark called back to them.
"She got the last word in." Jay said. "I'll have to write that down."
"Friends?" Lloyd asked. Curious of what she said earlier of stating that they were friends.
"Yup." He said popping the 'p'. "She's my go-to girl for flowers and she never disappoints. Lark's super nice, Lloyd, you really should get to know her. I don't know Misty that well, but she's nice too, just a little protective at first."
"Well, I'm being forced to come tomorrow." Lloyd laughed. "I'll probably get to know her a bit more."
"She never said a time, I'll have to text her and ask." Jay noted to himself. "Remind me incase?"
"Sure!" Lloyd said. "I can do that."
