Queen's Casino is a very famous and wealthy casino and it was where the true night party was. The owner earns large amounts of profits daily, due to the addiction towards gambling by the customers, and because of a girl who wins most of the money for the casino: Lucky Gal, Scarlet Queen. The girl's appearance was no older than 14 and she had raven black hair that was thick and voluminous. Her blood red lips and scarlet eyes were accented heavily against her nearly colourless, flawless complexion and black hair. One would describe her as a vampire and her appearance seemed fitting to the term "vampire" rather than "lucky gal".
It was a normal evening in death city and Scarlet was busy gambling when suddenly, screams rang throughout the building and people ran away, leaving behind their "games". Windows crashed and the increased volume of nosiness didn't affect the game Scarlet Queen was playing. One person was slain right next to their table, causing her opponent's face to ashen in horror. He bolted upright but found himself forced back down into his seat by two men in black suits. The henchmen around Scarlet immediately held the guest in place, a silent order of telling him not to move.
"Mister Parsley...I believe it's your turn." Scarlet smiled calmly as a dead body flew by her. He stared at her with disbelief but his urge to scream and run away was held back by the mysterious intimidation posed by the small girl and her henchmen. With a trembling hand, he pulled out a pair of Kings. Scarlet beamed like a child and got up, ready to place down her whole deck when suddenly, a dismembered body flew onto the table, ruining everything. The dark haired girl was not exactly known to have a lot of patience and she cussed, watching the last straw snap within her opponent. He dashed towards the exit, fearing for his own life while leaving behind a girl who had a look of displeasure on her face. The bodyguards looked towards the girl, waiting for signals while Scarlet sighed in annoyance.
"Aww bloody daggers. Would you look at this, my chance to win four thousand dollars gone with a bloody thief. Literally." Scarlet threw her deck of cards onto the table with disgust and annoyance. As one of her perfectly manicured red nails dug into the table, she threw one card towards the intruder which took away one strand of his hair. The Master Thief Lupin had wandered into her territory, unwanted and vulgarly, then decided to steal away her guests by slaughtering them. He packed their souls like wads of cash inside a sac bag and only when Scarlet threw a card did he stop. Lupin glanced back at the girl with a grin.
"Ah...Miss Queen. How nice to see you again." He mockingly bowed. Scarlet snapped her fingers and her henchmen immediately surrounded the thief with weapons of all forms. Scarlet grin sweetly, flashing her perfect set of pearly white teeth with her canines slightly sharper and longer than the average person. She kicked the table in front of her and sent the cards, coins and dead body flying. Ripping the side of her black dress to allow movement, she walked towards where the center of attention was. Slicking her hair back with her red claws she eyed the intruder with a slightly amused expression.
"Mister Lupin how are you?I believe you owe me a debt." Scarlet grabbed a wine goblet made of crystal and threw it at Lupin. The fragile object shattered as it broke the window behind him and Lupin smiled nervously. She chuckled at how prettily the shards flecked off the light and the redness of the blood painting the room. She then picked up a shard herself, which gave her a cut before she started to throw that at him as well.
"I see you haven't changed at all, you goddamn lunatic." He avoided the attacks of the burly henchmen and jumped out of the window, but not before he grabbed Scarlet's gambling opponent and killed him, stealing away his soul too.
"That bloody thief isn't running away." Scarlet grinned madly as she clenched a glass cup in her hand, which caused it to shatter in her hand and cut her palm, making a bloody pool on the ground. Another one of Scarlet's wingman unclenched her fist for her and brought her to the change room where she could get rid of the formal and stiff black dress and change something more appropriate for Kishin Egg Hunting.
Once she exited the change room, the girl called out two names: "Yin, Yang" and smiled coyly like a cat as she clapped her hands. Several henchmen immediately formed a line and the others handed them weapons. Two boys appeared and they wore they each wore a tag, one with "Ying" on it and another with "Yang" on it.
The two were a pair of identical twins who seemed to fit the genre of Lolita boys. They had the same curly black hair, pair of icy blue eyes, oversized black sweaters on top of black boy shorts. They also wore matching black knee-high socks and brown shoes.
"Yes, Miss Scarlet Queen." The twins bowed simultaneously and began to glow. They transformed into a pair of brass knuckles with spikes and they flew their way to Scarlet's fingers. "Aces set out for traps and black off any possible exits off of our radar. Jacks go and track down that bloody thief. Kings guard the casino and Queens," Scarlet licked her lips as her eyes glistened madly. "It's hunting time." Black figures from all directions flew out and there were more than fifty that disappeared into night sky. Team Queen and Scarlet was on the rooftop of the casino as they awaited for Team Clubs information.
"Scarlet...he's heading to the alleyway." The voice from a pair of earbuds buzzed suddenly to the the ravenette. Scarlet had her black hair tied in braided twintails. The girl was wearing a black tank top with a red jacket brimmed with fur, that wasn't worn properly as it was loosely put on and hung below her shoulders. Her outfit was completed by black shorts, two black ankle-boots, a pair of gloves, and a pair of uneven short fishnet stockings. Tapping her scarlet nails against her chin, the girl smiled in a slightly crazed way as her crimson eyes glowed.
"Let's get him, Queens." The girl stood up and leapt off of a tall building, following the Leader of Team Ace's orders. Behind her were silent figures of people, all size and shapes clad in black. They each had the elaborate brand of a heart tattooed on, matching the one on Scarlet's left was the insignia of them being the casino's owner's gang and proved their identity as well as their loyalty. They silently followed the girl who was receiving directions only she could hear and they finally got near the dead alleyway. The girl raised her her hands, halting the group as she peered around the corner of the wall.
"Hmm…there's a kid with two weapons. And I'm not talking about the ordinary kind." The ravenette bit her painted scarlet thumbnails, a shade of red identical to her glowing eyes. She contemplated on what to do but that moment of consideration was just that: a brief moment.
"Then do we go back, boss?" One of the lackeys asked but the ravenette shook her head. She grinned back at them, childishly. "Nope. I want to see where this goes. It can be an exciting show." She turned around the corner, as excited as a child watching a puppet show. However to her disappointment, the boy with black hair and three white stripes on the left side, lets go of his guns, revealing two girls. Instead of focusing on their target, they began to bicker about symmetrical aesthetic while Lupin simply escaped. Scarlet sighed then checked on her gloves as she hummed. "Hmmm...what to do? This is really boring but if we let Lupin run it'll just annoy me." She paused momentarily before casually suggested: "Let's kill him!" The girl ran past the idiotic trio and barely glanced at the group. They all jumped down to the sewers where the thief escaped and Scarlet pinched her nose at the sour stench while Lupin looked back to see what was the noisy splashing of water.
"Hi hi, Mr. Lupin. I believe you owe a debt of 3 million dollars to the casino and…" Scarlet pointed at the bag he was carrying, while speaking in a preppy voice and gave him a bright smile. "That's one of my friends you're carrying. I was going to win four thousand dollars from him."
Lupin laughed as he turned and began to run. "You can't catch me Miss Queen, I'm the Grand Master Thief Lupin!"
His path was suddenly blocked by more henchmen and Scarlet licked her lips and tilted her head. Her mouth curved into a wide and sadistic grin."It's game over, Mister Lupin. After all, in the game of luck I always win. And you can never escape the Blood Moons." Scarlet and the henchmen closed in on the thief, all of their eyes gleaming but with the ravenette's being the most frightening. Lupin shivered and fell down as they circled around him. He did not fail to notice all sorts of weapons, ranging from brutal medieval torture devices to modern powerful technology. The girl snapped her fingers and a boy with a mop of curly brown hair and orange eyes walked over. He was wearing a wide pair of rectangular glasses and had a black sweater on, over a white shirt. His black jeans were tucked into black combat boots. Yin and Yang reverted to their human form as the boy turned himself into a baseball bat that had spikes coming out of it. Lupin to sneered at her, clinging onto whatever pride he had left to taunt her. He called out and jeered at her and her weapon being "merely toys and children".
"Children? Toys? Mister Lupin...you clearly have no idea how baseball bats and the Blood Moons work do you? Anything can be used as weapons and I personally think Peter here," Scarlet chuckled as she rotated her shoulder joint before bashing it hard into the neck of the thief. "can take out a large chunk off of you." The agonizing scream of the thief echoed throughout the sewers and Scarlet scoffed."No fun. This has to be by far the lamest Kishin Egg I have ever dealt with. Who's turn to snack on the Kishin Egg? And bring over the car...I need to prepare for class tomorrow. Make it quick." Scarlet tossed one of her braided twin tails to the side as Peter reverted back to his human form.. Scarlet examined her red painted nails and hummed in slight satisfaction as there were no scratches or dents.
"I believe it's my turn, Scarlet." Peter reached for the Kishin Egg and swallowed it whole with relish. Wiping his mouth in satisfaction, did he just realize that his meister was staring at him with large curiosity. "What?"
"What do Kishin Eggs taste like?" Scarlet tilted her head while giving her weapon a childish smile.
"I don't know. Good?" The boy rolled his eyes.
Ying and Yang stared at him too, with respect in fact. "How can you speak so informally to Miss. Scarlet Queen?" Ying, who was on Scarlet's left wondered in awe, as if it was an incredible feat.
"You must be so brave...no wonder Miss Scarlet Queen regards you as your most trusted companion and you're registered officially as her weapon for DWMA Academy." Yang was left in a dreamy like state. The bat boy scoffed as pushed up his glasses. "How ridiculous. You know very well Scarlet hates formalities."
"Peter is a nutcase." Scarlet shrugged ever so casually as one of the henchmen lifted her up and had her sitting on his shoulder. He lifted her up only to reveal a limousine as a butler opened the door for her. The man and the rest of the Queens and Jacks had disappeared so the Blood Moons were able to move out openly without needing to be too worried about having their complete identity revealed.
"If you're referring to me being a hard case to crack, yes I am." Peter ruffled his hair as he got in after Scarlet did and the twins followed the two in. The rest of the henchmen disappeared liked ninjas and went back to the casino first to clean up the mess caused by the thief. Breathing onto the window, she slowly spelled Lord Death's number to report her successful capture.
"I don't appreciate your humour, Peter." Scarlet smiled as the limousine started to move. The glass then rippled and the twins moved out of the way. Scarlet pulled up her red jacket and placed on a pair of cat eyed sunglasses. The darkness of the lens duller the scarlet of her pupils to a brown. Lord Death appeared and greeted her with much enthusiasm.
"Hihi Lord Death!" She waved with both hands as she grinned like an innocent girl. Though Death was well aware of her nature, he had allowed the girl to run the casino and underground nightlife as long as she stopped supporting criminal activity. Of course, her kid like innocence won his trust after she agreed to stop. Despite that, she disliked anyone who was deeply involved with her day life to see her with her bright red eyes and altered personality.
"Did Peter capture his 46th Kishin egg?" Lord Death asked and the girl gave him thumbs up. "Kishin egg hunting had gotten a lot more efficient and I'm happy to fatten him up. Peter! Say hi~" She leaned back so that Peter was in full view. Bashedly, Peter, shrunk, his posture worsening as he acknowledged the person whom he had recognized as an idol to him. After a small talk or so, Lord Death hung up and Scarlet pulled off her sunglasses, sighing. She adjusted her black gloves and played with a loose strand of hair. Peter rolled his eyes and leaned against the door, looking out. Scarlet was a lot more lovable in her daytime persona. Since she was in school, there was no reason for her to go out of her way to sadistically kill off someone but even if she did, she merely smiles and finds a way to get back at them indirectly.
As the crew reached the casino, the henchmen opened the door of the limousine and Scarlet stepped out. A butler bowed with his black hair slicked back and his maroon eyes peering at the ground. "Welcome back, Boss."
"Stop being so stiff, Mitchell. Do you have my coloured contacts and fake glasses ready?" Scarlet walked into the casino and nodded in approval at the already fixed casino. The heavy odour of blood no longer lingered in the building but instead, the sweet and distant fragrance of roses enveloped and welcomed the group. The black ebony gates of Night's casino closed off, marking the end of the party.
The next morning, a girl with black hair tied in a pair of braided high twin tails looked up at the board that had work opportunities in the school with an innocent curious stare. She was wearing her usual style of clothing, the exact same as the one she wore to yesterday's hunting. However, she wore it more properly and instead of a black tank top, she wore a black turtleneck sweater, and she was wearing coloured contacts. Scarlet's eyes were now a greyish brown colour and she was wearing a wide pair of black glasses. Her weapon, Peter stood next to her with a slightly furrowed brow as he was grumbling something. Scarlet's eyes left the board and turned to the side, seeing Maka greet the pair.
Scarlet smiled sweetly and waved at Maka and her partner. The girl was immediately crushed in a hug by Maka as Peter and Soul exchanged fist bumps.
"What are you two looking at?" Soul asked after he dropped his hands and stuffed them in his pockets. Scarlet pointed at the board and the two newcomers' eyes widened in surprise. The group was later joined by another pair of friends: Tsubaki and Black Star. However, being the idiot he was, Black Star believed that their attention was because of him.
"Anyways Scarlet, I heard you and Peter caught the Master Thief Lupin! Congratulations, how many Kishin Eggs have you collected in total?" Tsubaki kindly addressed the pair.
"46...still a long way, haha." Scarlet scratched the side of her cheek as she chuckled softly. Soul whistled in an impressed manner while Black Star laughed.
"No one would've expected that the sweetest and geekiest nerd in the school would have caught so many. I honestly have thought you were the most fragile cinnamon bun in our school." Maka patted Scarlet's head. Scarlet smiled as Peter stifled back a shiver and a laugh. Scarlet as a cinnamon bun? Pfft yah right, she's just a psychopathic daredevil with a horrifying child's curiosity. It's similar to when a child breaks or kills a bug with no remorse unless told that it is bad. Which terrified Peter on all honesty because if a child is not told or guided, they may grow up thinking that killing or torturing isn't bad at all.
"But anyways...who would have took on such a job? I don't like this at all." Soul bit his lip and frowned. Black Star had his brows knitted in agreement with Soul and Peter decided it would be entertaining to follow in on their plan.
"Why don't we show him where his place is?" Peter grinned evilly and the three boys dashed off to find this "imbecile who dared to outshine them".
"Humph! Boys." Maka scoffed and Tsubaki sighed in agreement. Scarlet chuckled in a dismissive way but nonetheless, she stayed back slightly as the other two headed for class.
At the end of the day, the job was marked as completed at Scarlet felt a tingling sensation of excitement down her spine as Peter walked up to her. When the two left the school together, Peter was on his phone and he smirked.
"Oi Scarlet. Want some interesting news?" Peter threw back his head as he looked at his meister who took off her glasses, and shrugged her jacket off one shoulder, once again wearing it loosely. They were far enough from the school property that she wouldn't care about her school identity. She toyed with her loose curls and without much interest demanded. "Spill it."
"The boy you met in the alleyway yesterday-"
"Ah, the dumbass who loves symmetry? What about him?"
"He's the kid who took the job today." Scarlet stopped toying with her hair as she looked at her weapon in interest. A wild grin playfully appeared on her face as she motioned the boy to continue.
"And he's...Lord Death's son."
Scarlet stopped dead in the middle with her mouth open in shock. She then began shaking and laughed loudly as she clutched the sides of her stomach. "This is so amusing. A little symmetry perfectionist like him who he himself doesn't have perfect symmetry? Lord Death's bloodline must have interesting people in all branches of the family."
