Prompt 19. Air –
It was peaceful and quiet in the garden where Mai was sitting. It rarely was, and she was relishing the moments before her peace would inevitably be destroyed.
On cue, Ty Lee cartwheeled in.
"Whee!" The acrobat landed perfectly on one foot and pirouetted in front of Mai. "Pretty day, huh, Mai?"
"It was."
Ignoring the not-so-subtle insult, Ty Lee continued to dance across the grass, humming to herself and stopping periodically to pick a particularly pleasing flower. Tying the stems with a blade of grass, she handed the bundle to Mai with a smile.
Mai caught Ty Lee's head between her hands and shook it violently. "Weird."
"Wa-what's wa-wa-weird?" she managed, still being shaken.
Mai released her grip on the other girl, and stood. "Your head's heavy. There must be more than air in there."
Ty Lee blinked confusedly after her as she walked away.
