Somewhere in Virginia
Harmon Rabb was just getting dressed for work when his phone rang. It was his mother, wondering if he'd come home for Easter. He had spoken to her for ten minutes before he remembered that he was going to his grandmothers' house.
As he sat and ate his breakfast, his mind wandered as it always did to his partner.
He had to admit it. He loved her. He loved her so much in fact, that he often prayed for her.
"Are you there, god? It's me, Harm. I know. Sorry to bother you again, but today, if you're not out of miracles, I'd like to request one. Can you help me? I want to tell her, god, I do. But I don't know how she'll react.
I'm scared, god. I really am. I'm scared of what she'll think, of what she'll do.
I know she has Brumby, and I have Renee. Not that I don't love, or at least lust for, Renee, it's just that Sarah makes me feel-peaceful. Happy. Accepted. She's my saving grace, my light. I love her, god, I do. Well, thanks for talking to me, god."
As Harm pulled into the driveway at the bullpen and watched his partner get out of her 'vette, a song came on the radio.
"Only You…."
