Edilio Escobar was fed up. He left the White House Boat as calm as he always was, sat down on a large rock, then let out a sigh. He'd had it.
Sam was moody and sad, and although Edilio understood that he missed Astrid. But she'd been gone for a month, which was a relatively long time. By now he should have been able to pull himself together and get this town running. Dekka wasn't much better. She was so cold and wouldn't let anybody in. It's not like she did before, but at least then she would be willing to help out. Ever since she had told Briana she loved her, or something close to it, she'd been a mess.
Once again it was up to Edilio to do everything. And he was sick of it.
At that very moment, a kid he knew as Roger, or the 'Artful Roger' as he'd been dubbed, happened to be walking past.
"Tough day at the office, huh?"
"I'll say." Edilio replied dryly.
Edilio then noticed the piece of paper that Roger was holding.
"What's that?" he asked.
The Artful Roger didn't miss a beat in showing him.
"It's the lake."
Edilio was surprised at his choice of subject, but after looking at the image he understood.
"It's beautiful really, if you think about it" said Roger.
He walked off leaving Edilio thinking that it really was beautiful. And that Roger really is a special guy.
