Okay you guys. I decided to rewrite this story because I saw how terrible it was. Why didn't you guys tell me? Oh well. I hope you guys like this revised version. Next thing you know, you guys liked the former one better... In this story, Itachi doesn't know who Sakura is, but she knows who he is. If this is confusing, I apologize in advance...Charactes may be OCC. Title changed from "Confronting Sakura" to "Our Rain".

Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

'My beloved mother...The things I do for you...' Itachi thought as he walked back to the Uchiha District. He looked around the wet scenery and sighed. It was raining, and his mother had sent him to buy certain ingredients from the grocery store that she was going to cook tonight. And of course, he didn't bring an umbrella.

'It's just my luck that it would start raining as soon as I got to the grocery store...' So you see, it wasn't raining on the way to the grocery store. It only began raining when he got to the grocery store. Itachi sighed and kept walking.

As he walked, he realized that he was by the park. Unconcious of his actions, Itachi smiled. The park looked beautiful as it was enveloped by the rain. He sighed and began to walk away when he saw a flash of pink hair. Itachi's smile turned into a frown. Who would be out here in rain like this? He decided to walk over there and tell whoever it was that they needed to get out of the rain and find some shelter. Though as he neared the person, he realized that they were singing a song. Not just any song but a song of sorrow...

Itachi heard the song and analyzed it throughly. He knew the name of the song, and he also knew that the girl had already started the song before he came. In other words, he came a little after the beginning. Itachi glanced at the form of the person and saw that the person was a girl. She was wearing a pitch white dress that obviously got dirty but nothing else, not even shoes. She didn't seem to know that he was there because her head was hung low, her pink hair covering her face, and she was hugging her legs.

"How long are you going to keep staring at me?"

Itachi snapped out of his trance, focused on the girl, and tried to not analyze her. He took an extra notice that she still wasn't facing him. "How long will it be until you face me?"

The girl looked up, glared, and quickly returned to the way she was. "There. Happy? You can leave now."

If Itachi wasn't so stoic, he would have rolled his eyes. But since he was, he didn't do anything. He just stared at her.

The girl, still noticing his presence, looked up and glared at him again. "What are you still doing here?! Shouldn't you be gone already?!"

Itachi lightly sighed to the point that it wasn't visible at all. "My whole purpose in being here is to tell the person in the rain to go find shelter. You will get sick at this point. Actually, I'm impressed that you haven't gotten sick at this time." Itachi calculated that he has been out here for ten minutes. Enough to give someone a fever.

The girl looked up with bored eyes. "Thanks for telling me that. Your job is done. Leave!"

Itachi wanted to roll his eyes. This girl was too stubborn. "Now why should I listen to someone younger than me?"

For a while, the girl just stared at him. When she gave no answer, Itachi got closer to her and put the umbrella on top of her, covering both him and her from the rain.

"Why did you do that? Can't you see that I want to be in the rain?"

Itachi smirked and got closer to her, invading her personal space. The girl widened her eyes and backed into the tree trunk. "What's your name?" he asked.

The girl blinked at the question. Should she tell him or no? Wait. That was a random question that he asked. Now why- "Sakura." The words left her mouth before she could register them.

"Hmm...Sakura...Well, now that I know your name. I can officially ask you questions. For example, why are you out here in the rain? Are you mourning about someone?" Itachi knew he had struck a chord when Sakura suddenly looked up.

'...How did he know...? He must have used his Sharingan...' But when Sakura looked in his eyes, she saw that he did not have his Sharingan. "...Not your business..." She said a while later. Then she looked back down at the ground.

Itachi looked around him. The rain was still plattering down. He wanted to pry the information out of her because he could not leave her out here on her own. 'Why do I have a heart like this?' Itachi lightly sighed again and sat down next to her. Sakura looked at him in complete shock. She was definitely not expecting this. Itachi set the groceries on the roots and put the umbrella on top of them, so they wouldn't get wet.

Sakura blinked at him. "What are you doing?"

Itachi leaned back at the tree trunk and turned his head to face her. "What does it look like I'm doing?"

Sakura rolled her eyes. "Leave me alone," she murmurred.

Itachi shook his head. "I'm not leaving until I get the full story out of you," he declared.

Sakura glared at him. "Fine then!" she yelled as she stood up. "I'll leave then!" But before she could even take a step, Itachi grabbed her wrist. "What do you want now?!"

"Your beloved person that died... Who is he?"

Sakura whipped her head around to face him, rain droplets smacking her face. "W-Who...are you?"

Itachi looked at her intensely that she could not break her gaze away from him. "Every single bit of emotion that you feel transpires around your face. I'm just reading your facial expressions."

Sakura sighed and looked at him. "Do you really want to know?"

Itachi narrowed his eyes at her. 'How convinient that she's willing to tell me. She wants something.' "I do," he simply said.

Sakura nodded. "I'll tell you. Let me go first, and I'll tell you."

Itachi smirked. So this was what she wanted...Did she think that he was stupid enough to believe her deal? So instead, Itachi yanked her wrist and pulled her down next to him again.

"Woah!" Sakura exclaimed. When she was sitting, she glared at him. "What was that for?!"

Itachi merely looked at her. "You were going to run away."

Sakura did not try to deny that fact at all. "Yeah. So?"

Itachi took a glance at her and ignored her. He leaned back on the tree trunk and stared up at the rain. "You know, my friends also died in the same rain."

Sakura's gaze softened, but she still kept up her tough act. "Y-Your friends?"

Itachi took a sideways glance at her to see that she was surprised at his statement, but nevertheless, he nodded. "Yes. My friends. They died when the Third Great Ninja War went on. They weren't even part of the war, but they still died..." Itachi then turned his head to face Sakura's wet face. "Is that how your beloved died too?"

Sakura widened her eyes. Once again, he had been able to deduce the origins of her misfortune. She quickly shook her head and sadly looked down. "...Maybe..."

Itachi knew that her beloved did not die in the war, but he died a way similar to the war. Her beloved was not part of something that caused him to die. But if that was the case, why is she sad to point that she could kill herself? Was she witness of his death and didn't do anything to stop the death?

"You caused the death of your beloved," Itachi concluded.

Sakura didn't bother to hide anything anymore. She burst out crying. "T-That's right! It's because I created a monstrous being that went out of control...! He protected me...but died because of it..." Sakura said between sobs.

Itachi sighed. Figures she would feel this way. If Itachi didn't have control over his emotions, he would have been in the same state that Sakura was. "You know..." he began. Sakura looked at him, her tears combining with the rain. "When my little brother would get hurt, I would hug him and tell him not to cry..."

Sakura tilted her head. "And?"

Itachi stared straight at her eyes. For a second, Sakura thought that he was going to use the Sharingan on her. But as seconds passed, she realized that that was not his intention. "Cry," Itachi demanded.

Sakura sniffed and furrowed her eyebrows. "What-?" Sakura couldn't get to finish because she was suddenly enveloped in a hug.

"Cry...Cry as much as you want..."

Sakura widened her eyes. What was wrong with this guy? 'But his hug...It feels like his...Why is he willing to help me?' Sakura put those thoughts aside. She did not hug him back, but she did cry. She cried and cried, not only for her beloved but also for the friends Itachi lost...

And so, they stayed like that until Sakura calmed down...

For the rest of the story...Well...Let's just say that Mikoto wasn't happy to receive wet groceries...
