Cat Noir Times Two
Cat Noir leaped across the rooftops and landed gracefully on Marinette's roof. Visiting her had become a weekly basis but it'd been a few days since he had had the free time to pounce over and visit. Pulling open the rooftop door he dropped down with a grand flourish.
"Hello Princess, I hope you didn't miss me to much but don't worry, I am prepared to comfort you're aching heart." He opened his closed eyes and looked around to find Marinette sitting on her bad facing away from him. She hadn't even noticed his presence.
"Princess?" He stepped towards the bed and she glanced over her shoulder, finally noticing him.
"Oh, hey Cat Noir…when did you get here?" She asked, distractedly, turning back to face the other way.
Cat Noir couldn't help the pout the graced his lips. It's not like he expected Marinette to fall down at his feet and swoon over him but she had never blatantly ignored him like this before.
"I just got here. Whatcha got there?"
She jumped up suddenly, smiling and he noticed she was holding a small, black ball of fluff. As she held the fluffball out to him he watched as two round, green eyes appeared and the ball unravelled to reveal…a cat?!
Marinette got a cat? What'd she need to go and do that for? She already had one adorable cat companion.
"Isn't he the cutest cat you've ever seen?" Marinette squealed, rubbing her face affectionately against the cat's cheek.
Cat Noir huffed.
"I've seen cuter cats." He mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck with sudden insecurity. A glint of light drew his eye to the cat's neck where he suddenly noticed a collar that had his name tag on it: Cat Noir.
He choked on his own spit and went into a coughing fit before trying, and failing, to regain his composure.
"The cat's name is Cat Noir?!" He squeaked out.
Marinette flushes in embarrassment and pets the kitten nervously.
"It's not because of you…I mean it is! But because he looks just like you. I'm not some obsessed, love-crazed fan. Not that I'm not a fan! You're one of my favourite superheroes."
"One of your favourites? As in not the favourite?" Cat Noir actually sat down on the floor in a huffy pout.
"W-well because you're part of a team. So, you're one of two people on the team."
He just huffed again and turned away from her.
Marinette set Cat Noir, the kitten, down on the floor and moved to sit down in front of Cat Noir, the superhero.
"Cat, are you…jealous?" She asked, smiling uncertainly at him.
"You said he's the cutest cat you've ever seen…" he muttered, looking at the floor.
His head snapped up at the sound of Marinette laughing at him.
"Why are you laughing at me?!"
She laughed harder, falling backwards clutching her stomach.
He watched her, mouth agape and face flushing red with further embarrassment. He leaned over her and asked again.
"Marinette, why are you laughing at me?"
Her laughing slowed and she wiped tears from her eyes. She took a few deep breaths and smiled up at him. Winding her arms around his neck she pulled him down to her level.
"Because Cat…you are the cutest superhero I've ever seen, and you're jealous over a little kitten." She giggled again.
"It's a pretty cute kitten…" he murmured, eyes glancing between her eyes and her lips.
Marinette leaned up and captured his lips with her own. She kissed him gently and pulled back before he had a chance to unfreeze and reciprocate. She smiled at him and stroked his cheek.
"Meh, I've seen cuter."
