WELL... since my story was a huge flop, I've decided to scrap it. I've recently started with Sesshomaru and Furball 2 but eh still finding motivation. As for this one, this is an old romance book I've read before, I decided I wanted to share this story with you guys so I changed some parts of the plot. Again, I don't earn money from this and I just do this for fun aaand I'm... like waiting for my grades to show up. I reaaally hope I can finally graduate.
Sesshomaru Taisho was buried left and right in paperwork, muttering a string of curses as he read over the documents. Once he read and signed the document, he'd shove it to a separate pile for his secretary to file, and for the once that didn't get his signature, the trashcan beside his feet.
He paused over on a letter addressed to his younger brother, Inuyasha and almost regarded it as trash until he read a line. Yanking it back to his line of vision, he immediately pressed the speed dial on his phone for Inuyasha, not caring about the time difference or that he'd wake Inuyasha.
"This better be good." Inuyasha growled, sleep evident in his voice.
Sesshomaru didn't bother to say his pleasantries and got to the point.
"Who the hell is Rin?" He demanded.
"Wha- Rin?" Inuyasha replied, confused as well.
"You're calling me at this hour because of a woman?"
"Tell me..." Sesshomaru furrowed his brows together, he knew Inuyasha wouldn't cheat on his wife Kagome, it must have been before he met Kagome.
"Just tell me what I need to know in order to get rid of this woman." He said impatiently. "The letter here is informing you of her progress, whatever the hell that means. Graduated successfully, what club activities she had partake."
"Isn't she a bit too young for you?" Sesshomaru shook his head in disgust.
Inuyasha muttered something under his breath "I'm married to Kagome! Why would I..." A sharp intake of breath came from the end of the line.
"Of course... Rin. Rin Ieiri. I'm not thinking clearly at this hour of the night."
"And who is this Rin Ieiri?" Sesshomaru's patience was running out.
"Ieiri, you know her. The one who always used to stay in our house for a vacation in London?"
"That little girl?" Sesshomaru's brows slightly raised as he remembered the small little girl with pigtails that used to disturb him in the library. She'd always pick out a book and ask him to read it to her. It's been years since he last saw her, she was shy and unassuming, always trying to fade from the background.
"Not so little anymore" Inuyasha grinned. "She's graduated just as you said, pretty sure she's an inteliigent girl."
"Why a report on her? I thought she was a mistress, the last thing I want to have is you being distracted and having another argument with your wife."
Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "Hardly necessary, I completely forgot about Rin, Izanagi Ieiri had asked our father to take care of Rin in case something happens to her, which he did, and I've taken the responsibility after he died."
"Then you should know that Rin is coming to Japan two days from now."
"Can't really leave Kagome right now."
"Of course you can't. Japan is my responsibility, I'll take over as her guardian until she flys off to Europe for her... vacation." Sesshomaru folded the paper he held.
"Rin won't be a problem, she's a sweet girl, just help her settle her affairs and needs. Oh and she doesn't gain her inheritance until she's twenty-five or she marries, whichever happens first so in the meantime Taisho Corporation will act as the trustee."
"Tch. I should have had Miroku take over this office instead."
Inuyasha laughed. "Look, I know you can take care of this. I need to sleep now so good night."
Sesshomaru sighed as he dropped his phone back to the desk, somewhat a feeling of dread coming.
Rin Ieiri got ready to step down as the private car that fetched her from the airport pulled over at the entrance of Saiga Tower, the hotel owned by the Taisho's. Inuyasha had always arranged a suite for her whenever she visited Japan, not that she was always there.
The trip had been planned as nothing more than a brief stopover on her way to Europe, though all of that had been changed when she heard the news that Sesshomaru Taisho would be the one overseeing her stay in Japan.
He'd meet her to make sure she had everything she needs for her trip to Europe. He didn't know yet but her trip to Europe was now a thing of the past, she was going to stay in Japan... indefinitely.
The car door opened and the security guard that drove her to the place extended his hand to assist her out. Once inside the lobby, she was directed to her suite, not needing to check in at the front desk.
Within a few minutes, her luggage was delivered to her room along with a bouquet of flowers. Just as she settled on the couch and propped her legs, another knock came from the door. She went to open the door and found another employee standing there, handing a cream colored envelope to her.
"From Mr. Taisho."
"Which Mr. Taisho?" She smiled, eyeing the envelope as she took it from the employee.
"Umm... Mr. Sesshomaru." She thanked the man and immediately closed the door. She ran her finger over the lettering on the envelope. Did Sesshomaru write it herself?
She brought the envelope to her nose, hoping to catch his scent. There. Undeniably his scent, she remembered it as though it was yesterday, he obviously still wore the same cologne.
She pulled the letter form the envelope, appreciating the writing of Sesshomaru. He'd written instructions for her to come to his office the next morning. She smiled, still as arrogant as ever. At least Inuyasha used to drop by her suite to check on her. Though she'd be happy to meet Sesshomaru on his terms, it would make it more satisfying to rock him back on his heels. The basis of her trip to Europe was because Sesshomaru used to live there, now that he relocated here in Japan, there was no need for her to go there.
Now that her Europe trip was off, operation Make Sesshomaru Fall in Love with Me was on. He was still the same emotionless person when she first met him, she was always checking up on him on newspaper articles. He'd lost his youthful handsomeness and was replaced with more raw masculinity.
She noted that rather than having a new woman on around his arms every other week, he was more on the business column about his latest business venture. Never have she read an article about him with another woman.
She'd been waiting for years to grown to stake her claim on him and he'd become so desirable, so irresistible. She'd fallen more in love with him. It won't be easy to seduce him though, this emotionless man wouldn't easily fall into her arms.
Out of the three Taisho brothers, Sesshomaru was the cold and uncaring one, he wouldn't give you the time of the world unless he can make use of you.
The phone rang, and she sighed, standing up to reach the phone that was beside her bed.
"Hello?"
"Ms. Ieiri." She immediately recognized the voice, she spent all her free time watching YouTube videos of interviews with Sesshomaru.
"Yes." She answered, hoping her nervousness wasn't obvious.
"This is Sesshomaru Taisho. I am calling to make sure you made it in okay and is settling with no difficulty?"
"Thank you. Everything is perfect.'
"Is the suite to your liking?"
"Yes of course. Thank you for reserving it to me."
"I didn't reserve it." He answered impatiently. "It is my private suite."
She looked around with a renewed interest, knowing that Sesshomaru spent a lot his time in the room.
"Then where are you staying? Why would you give up your suite?" She asked curiously.
"The hotel is undergoing renovations. The only available suite.. was mine. I'm temporarily taking a different room."
"I could have taken other accommodations. There was no need for you to move out for me."
"A few days won't make the difference. You should be comfortable before your trip to Europe."
Rin bit her lip, stopping herself from correcting him that she would not be going to Europe. No sense in putting him on guard as soon as she arrived. There'd be plenty of time to apprise him of her change in plans.
"Ah, I also received your summon." She smiled when she heard a small startled exclamation from the line.
"Surely I didn't sound so... autocratic, Ms. Ieiri."
"Please call me Rin. Surely you remember we weren't so formal?"
There was an uncomfortable silence until Sesshomaru spoke again.
"All right... Miss... Rin."
"Rin please." He sighed.
"Rin." She could feel the frustration that was building up but she was having too much fun.
"Now what were we discussing again?" He sounded distracted, and though he was polite, she knew he wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible. If only he knew...
"We were discussing your autocratic demand for me to appear at your office tomorrow."
"It was a request, Rin." He said patiently.
"Of course I shall honor it. Shall we say ten in the morning?"
"Of course. Please do order room service as you wish, all expenses are being taken care of."
She hadn't expected anything less and knew better than to argue. The Taisho brothers are very serious when it comes to responsibilities.
"Thank you. I'll see you tomorrow then."
Sesshomaru replied an appropriate goodbye and hung up. A smile popping up as she hugged her midsection in delight. Oh she'd planned to pay him a visit the day, all right.
Sesshomaru sat back in his chair and surveyed the skyline of the city from his window. After the meeting and a few phone calls, he finally had a few minutes to breathe. He glanced his watched and frowned, remembering that Rin Ieiri was coming.
He felt like a revolving door, Rin in, then out to Europe. Thankfully, he'd be rid of his responsibility to her. He'd make sure she was provided for, call a security team on her stay here and then have her on her way to Europe.
Sara Asano on the other hand... He closed his eyes briefly. She was his own decision. He and Sara had what he considered a close friendship. Perhaps understanding is a better term. He knew he needed to settled down not that he was taking over the Japan office.
It was something he discussed with Sara a few weeks before. They'd make a good couple, they understood each other. She came from a good family, her father was old friends with his father. Her family owned a shipping line. They were well matched and so it stood to reason that they'd be together as well.
She'd give him friendship and children, he'd give her security and protection. Yes, it was definitely time to settle down. His move to Japan was permanent and if was going to live here, the best course was to find a wife and start a family.
His thought out plans were interrupted by a knock on his door. He scowled knowing that his break was up. Standing up, he uttered a command to enter.
"Mr. Taisho, Ms. Ieiri is here to see you." Kaede, his secretary, said as she poked her head in the door.
"Send her in." He shoved his hand to his pockets.
He tried to remember his vague memories of the small girl that usually paid him a visit in the library of his childhood home. All he could picture was a very young Rin with big eyes and baby tooth. He wasn't even sure how old she was now, only that she'd graduated... then perhaps twenty-two?
He forced himself to remove the scowl from his face as the door swung open, no need to scare her to death. He was walking forward to greet her when he pulled up short, his breath knocked out of his body/
He felt a bit light headed, before him stood was not a girl, but a stunningly beautiful woman. An invisible hand constricted his throat, he had to pull on his necktie to alleviate the discomfort.
She smiled at him and he felt the gesture to his bones. All he could do was gawk at the woman standing before him, he expected a pimple faced teenager, not a drop dead gorgeous woman.
Rin was dressed in form fiting jean that slung low on her hips. Her top, if you could call that a top, hugged her generous curves as snugly as a man's hands.
He looked up to her, embarrassed to be caught staring, but then he locked eyes with hers. Long, dark hair fell in layers behind her shoulders. Beautiful brown eyes under long lashes sparkled as she watched him.
A smile graced her face as she greeted him.
"Good morning Mr. Taisho."
"What the hell are you wearing?" He demanded before he could even think/
She glanced down as she smoothed her hands over her hips, her eyes twinkled.
"I think they're called clothes." She said smartly.
He scowled, not liking the answer. "Is this the sort of clothes that Inuyasha allows you to run around in?"
"Inuyasha has no say in what I wear." She laughed, her melodious voice causing a few shivers down his spine. He wanted to hear her laugh again.
"He- He is your guardian, as I am now."
"You're just doing my father a favor. Executor of his estate until I marry or reach the age of twenty-five. You're hardly my guardian. I've managed my own with little support from Inuyasha."
Sesshomaru leaned on his desk while Rin sat on the seat in front of the desk.
"Marry? The terms of your inheritance is that you gain control of the business once your reach the age of twenty-five."
"Or I marry." She quipped in. "Which I plan to be married before then."
Alarm took over Sesshomaru's mind as he thought of many nasty scenarios.
"Who is he?" He demanded. "I'll have him fully investigated . You cannot be too careful, your inheritance will draw a host of unwanted suitors who only wants you for your money."
"It's really nice to see you again Sesshomaru. My trip was fine, thank you for sending a car to fetch me." Rin smiled.
He closed his eyes briefly, her reproach irritated him because he knew he was being rude.
"Apologies, Rin." He moved forward and took a seat in front of her. Clasping both of his hands together he nodded.
"I'm glad to hear your trip was satisfactory. May I get you something to drink while we discuss your travel arrangements?"
Rin shook her head, standing up and moved towards the window. Her hips swayed, and her bottom, cupped by the too-tight denim bobbed enticingly. His eyes that was glued to her bottom was sent upwards, knowing that ogling her was inappropriate.
Though it was that flash of color on her waist that stopped him. He blinked again. Was that a tattoo? As she stopped at the window, the hem of her shirt moved and a tiny part of the tattoo could be seen.
His head involuntarily moved forward, his eyes squinting to determine what the shape of the tattoo was. He scowled. A tattoo. Clearly Inuyasha failed with his duty as her guardian. What kind of trouble had she gotten herself into? Tattoos? Talk of marriage?
He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose as he felt the beginnings of a headache.
"You have wonderful view." She turned from the window to look at him.
He cleared his throat and sent a nonchalant gaze at her, anywhere but at her breasts, hugged tight by the thin t-shirt. The woman was a talking time bomb.
"Have you already made all the arrangements for your trip to Europe or would you prefer for me to see to them?" He asked politely.
She shoved her fingers in her pockets and leaned against the window.
"I'm not going to Europe." She mumbled.
"Pardon?"
She smiled again, making her voice louder this time. "I've decided not to go to Europe for the summer."
He closed his eyes briefly once again, calming his urge to strangle Inuyasha for dumping his responsibility on him.
"Does this have anything to do with your sudden desire for marriage?" He asked tiredly. "You haven't answered my question about the groom."
"Well that's because there isn't one yet!" She said mischievously. "I never said that I had a man lined out yet. Just that I wanted to get married before I turned twenty-five."
"Well why aren't you going to Europe? That was your plan at least a week ago when you sent the letter to Inuyasha."
"I sent no such thing." She shook her head. "The man Inuyasha hired to oversee my education informed him of my trip to Europe, I just changed my mind."
Sesshomaru's lips thinned, clearly running out of patience.
"So what do you intend to do?" He was already dreading the answer.
"I'm getting an apartment here in the city!"
Sesshomaru choked.
Rin could imagine the imaginary vein popping out of head, but his face betrayed nothing.
If she stayed here, then he would be stuck overseeing her, checking up on her constantly. Suddenly her impending didn't strike such a chord of irritation. She was twenty-two. Perhaps the best thing he could do for her was to introduce her ot a man well equipped to provide security and stability for her.
The thought was already turning into a plan in his head, when she spoke again.
"Pardon?"
"Oh, I only said now that we've gotten my arrangements out of the way, I need to be going. I have an apartment to find."
"Nonsense" He held his hand up, "I'll have Kaede search for suitable apartments for you to choose from."
"And then the furniture..."
"I don't think this is something you should do alone."
"Oh! That's so sweet of you to offer furniture hunting with me! I admit I wasn't looking forward to it on my own, and your knowledge of the city is sooo much better than mine."
Sesshomaru closed his eyes briefly for God knows how many times for the day. He was about to deny the idea of him volunteering when he looked at her genuine appreciation on her face. He snapped his lips shut and let out a sigh instead.
"Of course I shall accompany you. Kaede will find a few suitable places for you and tomorrow we shall go... furniture hunting."
Her eyes sparked. "Shall we do lunch as well?" She asked innocently.
"Of course I will feed you." He said with a grunt. Why did he feel like he was being manipulated and lost control of the conversation? But the sincerity of Rin's face proved otherwise.
Rin hurried over and threw her arms around him, She landed against his chest, and he had to brace himself to keep from stumbling.
"Thank you." She said against his ear as she squeezed him for all she was worth.
He allowed his arms to fold around her as he returned her hug. He felt every one of those generous curves he'd notice earlier. His hand wondered over the back of her shit, wanting to take another glimpse of the tattoo that was driving him crazy from not knowing what it was.
"Thank you Sesshomaru. I'll see you first thing tomorrow." She kissed him on the cheek and then turned towards the door.
He was left rubbing his cheeks where her lips had pressed just seconds before. Then he cursed and strode around the back of his desk again, ready to strangle Inuyasha for being involved with someone so young when he'd been lusting over the same girl. He'd never had this reactions before, hell, he regarded himself too high to get invovled with anyone. Nothing only but perfection.
He buzzed his secretary and quickly gave the instructions find three or four possible apartments. If all else failed, he could give her Inuyasha's penthouse to use.
As he hung up, he remembered Sara would be arriving in a week, and he groaned. He'd counted on not having Rin to contend with when his future fiancee arrived. But maybe Sara would have ideas where Rin was concerned, they could perhaps introduce her to a few eligible men- men who'd passed muster with him of course.
This wouldn't take long, he'd find her an apartment, a husband, and then he would turn all his attention back to his own impeding engagement.
"Rin!" Sango cried as she threw open the door to her apartment. Rin found herself enveloped in her friend's arms. And she returned the hug just as fiercely.
"It's so good to see you again." Sango ushered Rin inside.
"Soooo? Did you see him?"
"Just came from his office." Rin then proceeded to tell her what had occurred.
"Did he... take it well?" Sange flipped her hair over her shoulder, drawing attention to her pretty features. A year older than Rin, she had graduated the term before and moved to Japan to pursue a dancing career, but currently works as a dancer in a gentleman's club.
"Wouldn't say well... I'm just a huge responsibility that Sesshomaru needs to be rid of . I had to scramble for a new plan when I learned he was going to stay here permanently in Japan."
"Well how did he react when he saw you?"
"Ugh yes! Thank you goodness I finally blossomed. I'm sure he noticed. You have to understand that Sesshomaru is very traditional.: She sighed. "If I had shown up dressed like a good girl, I would been viewed as the little sister status, just as Inuyasha has done, and there would be no changing it."
"Better throw out the challenge huh?"
"Exactly. If he never sees me as a woman then this plan of mine will never see the light of the day."
"I have every faith that Sesshomaru will fall hopelessly in love with you. But if he doesn't, you're young and could have your choice of men."
"I only want Sesshomaru, I've loved him for so long."
"Well then, we need to think of a way to catch him. Don't we?" Sango said with a grin.
