The blue haired girl scaled the rock face with ease. Honestly, Frida shouldn't be surprised. Hilda had grown up doing this stuff. It was as natural to her as a room cleaning ghost once was to Frida. Frida however, being the more careful one, decided to take a small path nearby. Sure, it took longer, but at least she didn't run the risk of breaking her neck or something.
"Are you sure we can find a Water Horse here?" Frida panted as the continued up a steep trail.
"Well, not 'here' here." Hilda explained. "There's a lake about half a mile from here where they like to gather. I've been there loads of times."
"I'm just saying this had better be worth it. My parents will kill me if they found out I went outside the wall."
"It'll be fine, I promise. We'll find the Water Horses, get some pictures, maybe some DNA samples, and then we'll have what we need for that badge."
"Now when you say DNA samples..." Frida began.
"We'll have to climb here." Hilda stated, pointing to a large rock wall. "There's no trail near this one, so we really don't have a choice."
"That doesn't look safe." Frida murmured, looking at the slightly crumbling wall.
"Trust, it's perfectly safe."
"Hilda, it's crumbling."
"It's always doing that. I've climbed this loads of times, look." She then proceeded to latch herself to the wall, carefully climbing the rock face.
"Be careful!" Frida yelped. Hilda was almost fifteen feet up at that point.
"I'm telling you it's fine. You just need to know where to-" A rock that Hilda grabbed crumbled under her weight, and before she knew it, she was tumbling painfully down the rock face.
"Hilda!" Frida yelped, rushing over as Hilda hit the ground painfully hard. After a few seconds Hilda attempted to push herself up, only to let out a sharp gasp as clutch her right arm. "What's wrong?" Frida asked. "When Hilda didn't answer, Frida lightly poked her arm, causing the blue haired girl to yelp and pull back. "Calm down, I think it might be broken."
"That doesn't make me calm at all!" Hilsa responded. Frida checked her over. Her lip was bleeding and she had some bruises, but other than that she was fine sans the broken arm. Hilda's eyes were brimming with tears, most likely from the pain in her arm.
"Come on, let's get you home."
"The Water Horses!" Hilda exclaimed.
"Hilda, forget about the stupid Water Horses. You're hurt!" Frida helped the young adventurer to her feet, before gently guiding her down the path back to Trolberg.
