Cruel end
Deep lakes, green with Jade and Beryl and Emerald;
Cold flames full of passion, full of hate.
Now closed.
Long lashes sleep upon rosy cheeks, so dark, so beautiful.
But never, never mine.
The long dark strands of her hair slip through my questing fingers,
Silky like her voice, and slightly bloody.
She won't speak anymore.
My hearth aches.
With my thumb I caress her mouth.
Look at that stubborn upper lip, which defied me so often;
And the soft lower lip, which trembled in fear while I pursued her to the very end
Of this hostile little world.
No cold iron could keep me away from her, my greatest obsession, my uncrowned queen.
No army, no rival king, no man or fae could compete with me for her hearth.
But my love was stolen, lights and sirens in the night.
White clothed mortals, fear in the air.
Time stopped.
The smell of fire, the feel of death.
Her defiant soul is gone,
She is no more.
