What If I Love You
It was a cold and cloudy day. Riku was walking on the street and he could smell the rain in the air. He was going to the park because Sora had called him just a couple of minutes ago and told him that he wanted to tell him something important.
When he walked to the park, he noticed that Sora was already there. 'Wow, he's fast', Riku thought.
Sora was sitting on a bench, right in the middle of the park. He was looking at the ground and it seemed like he was lost in his own thoughts. When Riku finally reached the smaller boy and said "Hi", Sora jumped in surprise. Riku laughed and sat next to his friend.
"Oh….. Riku! Didn't see you there, ehheh" Sora said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes which were as cloudy as the sky.
'Weird' Riku thought, but decided to ignore it. "So, Sora, what did you want to tell me so badly I had to come here in the middle of my favourite program?"
Sora hesitated for awhile before answering "Well….. umm…. It's… nothing important, really"
"Come on! I came this far and now you're saying that it's nothing important?" Riku said. He sounded somewhat pissed, but when he saw the scared look on Sora's face, his voice became soft again. "Sora, I'm your best friend, aren't I? You can tell me"
Riku saw that tears were forming in his best friends eyes and realised that Sora was trying his hardest not to cry.
"Well…" he began; his voice was silent and distant. "I…. I'm just a little confused about my feelings" When he said this, a few tears escaped from his eyes and fell to his cheeks, but he didn't even seem to notice. But Riku did. He just pretended he didn't.
"I've been thinking about this for a long time now…. I don't know what I feel towards you. I've been thinking that maybe…. Maybe I….. Love you" Tears were now streaming from his eyes and down his chin. "Oh my god…. What if I really love you? Please don't hate me! I….I can't help it"
Riku didn't say anything. He just rose up from the bench and went to stand in front of Sora. Then he bowed down, took a hold of Sora's chin and lifted it upwards (Sora had been looking at the ground all the time he had been talking) forcing him to look at him.
"It's okay…. To be confused" Riku whispered. Then he slowly kissed Sora on the lips. Poor Sora was too confused to even realize what had just happened. Then, suddenly, he seemed to remember what Riku had said and jumped up from the bench. He hugged Riku and buried his head on his best friend's shoulder, starting to cry out loud. Riku hugged him back and they stood there like that for awhile. Then it suddenly started to rain. It seemed like the sky was crying too.
