*~Chapter 1~*
"I wonder why he called me over so late," Amy said, putting on her coat, and scrunching against the cold. "Honestly..." Knuckles had called her over to Angel Island at 12:00 in the night. Amy couldn't help but wonder what was up. She crossed the bridge over, and remembering the last time, she was careful. Last time, she almost fell until Knuckles had saved her.
"He would make a better boyfriend than Sonic. He's not as cocky as Sonic."
She then looked for knuckles, but then didn't see him. "I should of known it, it was probably a prank call. This late at night, no one in their right mind would call me over to their floating island... in the middle of the cold... alone..."
She got ready to leave until she heard a voice call to her.
"Knuckles?" He was bleeding badly, and no wonder she hadn't seen him, he was under a couple of bushes. "Are you OK? What happened?" she asked, helping him up.
"I better take care of you. But how come you only called me?"
"Well, Sonic yelled at me because he thought I was kidding, Tails thought it was a prank, Shadow didn't care, Rouge was blabbing about emeralds, and Lightning just fell asleep while talking. There was no one else to help me..."
"Sounds like my brother, all right."
"Yesh..."
"I'll have to wait to take you to the hospit..."
"No," Knuckles quickly said, "Not there... please."
"OK... I guess, but it was for your own good. Now I have to wait until someone else comes to Angel Island."
"My best bet it probably Rouge, though..."
"Who did this, though?"
"... I can't exactly say."
"C'mon Knuckles, please tell me???"
"Eggman..."
"Eggman? How's he supposed to attack you dead in the night?"
"I fell for one of his tricks... again."
Amy sighed, and then hoped that someone would come soon.
"Say Knuckles, maybe I can just go home and get some meds. But then Eggman might come again..."
"Please, just stay here."
I hope he'll be OK, thought Amy, and then felt herself drift off to sleep.

"Kn-knuckles?" Amy opened her eyes, and then noticed something was wrong. "Knuckles??? Are you OK?" Knuckles wouldn't get up, and looked like he was paralyzed...
"Oh no, I knew I shouldn't have fell asleep." She tried to pick Knuckles up, but was too weak. "Oh, why do people sometimes always do this? " She heaved Knuckles up, and then ran for the Station Square Hospital. As soon as she got there, she quickly asked the person at the counter to have someone take care of Knuckles. "He's gonna die if you don't do something," she said, chocking back tears.
"Were full right now," the hedgehog said, and Amy sighed.
"Please, just try and get someone for him!"
The hedgehog rolled her eyes, and then said "OK."
Amy jumped up in relief. "Oh, thank you so much, um... Miss."
Amy sat down at one of the chairs, waiting for what was going to happen. Later, a doctor came out, and my quickly jumped up. "What happened?" she asked. "Actually, we're going to need some blood for him, he might not make it..." "But can't I use some of my blood?" The doctor nodded, and Amy knew this was for Knuckles.

"Ow," Amy said, rubbing the sore where they injected her.
"Thanks Amy..."
"No prob, anything for a friend!"
"But you're more to a friend to me, Amy... I love you," Knuckles said.
