Old Acquaintances
I do not own Harry Potter.
"Serpensortia!"
Out of Malfoy's wand shot a white light that, when touched the dueling platform, gained substance. There coiled upon the ground in front of Harry was a large python. A large familiar python.
Rearing up, the python hissed in annoyance letting out an impressive supply of curse words before his gaze alit on Harry. The expecting hush that fell over the crowd was broken by Professor Snape "Don't move Potter, I'll get…" Lazily pointing his wand at the snake he was still talking when the snake snapped into motion.
Letting out a name Harry was familiar with the snake launched itself at him over the screaming of the students. {Amigo, sso nice to ssee you again.}
Absentmindedly pushing his glasses back onto his nose, Harry made sure to return pleasantries, it was only polite. {Hello, again. Did you make it to Brazil?} As all of his attention was on the python sprawled in his lap, Harry didn't notice the look of shock on both Snape's and Malfoy's faces, nor the all consuming silence as the watchers held their breath in shock.
{Yesss. Brazil iss wonderfully warm. Unlike this hard rock.} Hissing displeasurably, the large snake attempted to further crawl onto Harry's lap. {I would love to tell you of the wondersss of Brazil, but would you mind picking me up? Thiss cold iss uncomfortable.}
Nodding understandably (Harry always hated being stuck outside in the cold weather), he turned to ask for help. "Ron, Hermione, could you help me pick him up? He's rather uncomfortable with the cold floor." Their blank disbelieving looks said it all.
