This is an experimental story, so sorry if it doesn't come out too well.

Hopefully future chapters will be more interesting. R&R please.

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Naruto. I only own a certain purple-eyed stranger.

Tsunade looked up from her desk. "What is it, Shizune?"

"They're back."

"Was the mission successful?"

Shizune hesitated. "Yes."

"WELL WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? LET THEM IN!"

She cringed. "Right away, Tsunade-sama."

Sasuke sat down in a chair, staring at the small room they had put him in. It had a bed, a desk, couple of books, a bathroom, and not much else. Meals were delivered daily on plastic trays. Oh yes, Tsunade was being very careful. She had placed twelve Anbu guards keeping watch outside his door and windows and no visitors were allowed, yet. He knew that Tsunade might reward him for good-behavior so he bided his time. Sighing, he got up and looked in the small bathroom mirror. He was still pretty beat up from fighting Naruto, a long gash sliced across his cheek, half-healed.

He remembered the day he had gotten back, staggering into Tsunade's office. Naruto had thrown a fit as usual, no surprises there. Sakura mostly cried. She had seemed different though and definitely stronger judging by the hole she had opened in the office wall when Tsunade said he was being locked up, no visitors for a month. Did he feel regret for leaving them? No, it had been necessary for him to become stronger. He supposed he owed them though; they had saved him from Orochimaru stealing his body. Not that Sasuke would have let him. He was surprised when a knock sounded at his door. It was the fifteenth day of his probation, no where near the end of the month.

An Anbu probably unlocked the door because Sakura rushed in.

"Tsunade's summoning you. It's something to do with your probation. I think they're moving you somewhere else." Her green eyes darkened. "Where you'll be safer."

He didn't miss the implied reason. It wasn't about his safety. It was about their's.

"So where is this new location?" he asked with dark amusement.

"Tsunade just said for us to meet her." They were walking down the hallway to the violent Hokage's office.

The Anbu guard moved with them, silently shadowing them.

Sakura knocked, three short raps, before striding in. The guards waited outside. Tsunade was sitting at her desk talking (,or arguing) with Naruto.

"What do you mean I can't see him? I'm the one who brought him back!" The hyperactive blond said, angrily.

"I already told you Naruto, Sasuke can't have any visitors. He's too unstable."

"Then why'd you send Sakura to get him?"

"Sakura is one of the best medic nin here, and she's a chuunin while you're just a genin. She knows how and when to act in any situation." Naruto wilted slightly at the jab at his genin status.

"Tsunade-san, I've brought Sasuke like you asked." Sakura said from the doorway.

"Good job, Sakura." Her mentor said, approvingly. She turned to Sasuke. "As Sakura may have told you we're moving you to a more secure location. We will place you with a particular Anbu member with which you'll be chained to at all times."

"Will they also join us?" Sasuke gestured towards the door where the Anbu guards clustered just outside.

"No, just one person will prove sufficient." Tsunade raised her voice. "You're dismissed!"

Sasuke heard the whish of air as they departed.

"So," he asked the obvious question. "Who's my guard?"

"She'll be here any minute."

"She?"

Just then a teen strode in. She was slender, with long dark hair curled into a bun and electric, purple eyes.

"So, which of you is my captive?" she asked, twirling a pair of handcuffs.
